Steven King is a shit writer. He's a pop writer, like some one watching TV and trying to write based on it while flipping channels. His ideas weren't bad, but execution sucked. Don't really care what he's doing recently. He's been becoming more PC over time, which just made his works even worse.
That never really bothered me. Kids do have sex way before they should. It happens and acting like it doesn't is just people deluding themselves. That idea that people shouldn't write about things like rape, or child soldiers, or kids having sex is just as much PC non-sense as all the rest. It wasn't really written to titillate. That he caved on his writing makes him so much worse in my eyes.
He really is the most overrated writer of all time. There are nuggets of good ideas in most of his books, but he reliably destroys them in short order because he simply doesn’t know when to stop. Once you see it, you can’t miss it. You’ll be reading a King book, encounter a cool idea, and then watch in horror as he piles like ten retarded ideas on top of it. He can’t maintain cohesion or logical consistency in any of his stories. He always brings in some bizarre, disconnected, unnecessary elements that ruins the story.
I’ve been a fan of his books for years and there was a time when I would love to see what HBO w as coming out with. Not anymore. With woke entertainment plus the current obsession with diversity it’s pretty easy to guess what the story will be about.
Now that you mention it King is the only writer where when someone tells me a difference between the movie and the book I almost always think that it sounds like an improvement (especially true for the Kubrick movie).

...and the creepy kid sex stuff. Can't leave that out when discussing King.
"For your next gangbang scene, how about a little more PG, and a lot less 13?"

Technically it was a gangbang and not an orgy.
Double technically it was more of a train than a gangbang.
Someone needs to seize Stephen King’s hard drive, is my point.
I still don't see how that was supposed to stop a demon clown. Seems pretty fuckin demonic to me.
Wait... what's the difference between a train and a gangbang? Sequential vs parallel?
I never thought I would be drawing parallels between data structures and group sex acts.

At least with Netflix you can rest assured they'll do the child fucking part right.
He's attached to personally cast the children and direct that beloved scene!
(not really but it wouldn't surprise me)

They already tried this 'single town conglomerated story lore series' shit with Castle Rock and it failed horribly.
Let them throw money at it and blacken the town citizens all they want, it will still fail because nobody asked for it or gives a shit.
King has always been the worst horror fiction writer of them all. He was NEVER good at his job. Movies improved his work because his stuff sucks.

Jason Fuchs. Can't argue with that.
