Not anymore. America has a sizable Hispanic population that worships soccer. Lots of hipsters/ college educated upper middle class types watch it too. Soccer is a big thing in America now.
I live in an area of America that is around half hispanic, and all of them are NFL obsessed with nary a mention of soccer. From both the long established and the fresh illegal. Raiders Specifically for many of them.
Jousting and other renaissance Faire style knightly combat stuff is great too. Also, gladiator games, boxing, wrestling, all came from Europe. And I like tennis and golf...
