The FBI has post-facto designated a grassy area outside the Capitol as a restricted zone, when it was not restricted on Jan. 6, 2021, in order to widen the net of prosecutions.
I saw this and commented on it when I first noticed it when the FBI arrested Infowars host Owen Shroyer when the guy didn't even enter the Capitol at all. I looked up the charging documents, and all they said was that he was outside on the "grounds" where the protest was taking place.
I'm sure many FBI agents are brave, but this is a different kind of bravery. Credit to those who have stepped up to defend their oaths and their honour.
The FBI was intended to be temporary. And here they are, decades past, puffed up on pride and false authority, clinging desperately to said power. I am three steps away from the idea that if an FBI agent comes to me, I run them over with my car.
I dunno, mostly I view it as a tragedy. He needs some sort of help that he's not getting and the state of the world is just providing him ample opportunity to engage in confirmation bias in the meantime. I like to think that in a different era there'd be a stronger community support structure that would at least mitigate his psychosis so that even though he'd still end up a bachelor he at least wouldn't have gone completely over the edge like he has.
Something within him was fundamentally broken and the fact that we inhabit an environment where that can happen is very upsetting. No one should have to end up where he is and I view it as the collective failure of everyone other than him that it happened. I want a better society.
