Considering lithium is not enough to store any real energy and is a dead end as far as battery storage is concerned all this is a massive waste of time.

For conductivity graphene, however it’s still a long way from being viable as Lithium is currently. This is the one Elon is betting on though.
I've looked into this a bit, and honestly, it seems like we've not really made much meaningful progress at all.
And I don't just mean in terms of practical application and production so much as any solid ideas on the drawing board. Long-term storage of a lot of energy in a semi mobile, largely inactive and convertible form is not especially easy.

And if they managed to get it as energy-dense as even current Li batteries, that would be even worse. Ever seen a battery fire, even just a laptop or a cell phone? Ever seen an EV catch fire? Imagine your entire fucking house doing that. I imagine it would be over for you and your family pretty quick, but what do you do with a house-sized battery fire in a residential neighborhood? You can't dunk it in a pool for 24 hours like Tesla suggests they do with burning electric cars.
Or we can go even further. Remember all those fun little explosions in Star Trek? People joke about it as being silly, but I'm pretty sure that part of the reasoning is that those ships have power being distributed via plasma conduits throughout the entire ship.
That's some highly volatile stuff when containment measures are breached. Not quite as bad as radioactive material from a Nuclear leak, but still pretty bad, especially if we're talking about using it in populated areas.

If they magically find something that has energy density of even half of gasoline or natural gas, that something will be so dangerous we will not want to keep it stored in our home.
There's a reason we don't store tanks of gasoline in our house.
I call for anti-tank and anti-aircraft batteries to be installed in every neighborhood and, if the owner wants, front lawn. The WEF needs to know we mean business.

This strikes me less as the usual WEF demon shenanigans and more of the typical near-futurist nonsense. Granted, the near-futurists tend to be the loudest of their useful idiot army, but on the whole, their own ideas tend to only be stupid, not evil.
This, for example, is only stupid insofar that it's only ever been done in a lab, and that we have no idea what the large-scale hurdles of it would be. That's before we get to the inevitable bureaucratic parasitism that ruins any potential economic feasibility, of course. That said, if you could wave a magic wand and turn concrete structures into batteries without electrocuting people when it rains or giving everyone cancer, there's really nothing evil about that.
This article only really exists because it's cred for the autistic near-futurists that will back up just about anyone who tells them their fantasies are possible. Like von Braun and rockets, except with a room temperature IQ and underwhelming vision.
All new ideas attached to chinese names should be assumed to be utterly stupid and based on lies. Chinese are hyper competitive and have a long history of blatantly lying to try to get attention and hype. It's part of their culture now.

Because those are already owned by the government or corporations (which seem set on becoming more or less the same thing in our brave new world) - why would they need an excuse to take ownership of something they already own?
You already pay taxes for all of that stuff. We can’t have the poors continuing to actually own their homes not paying anymore money outside of property tax.
OK, so what happens in a few years when this iron-coated carbon-fibre mesh turns into iron oxide-coated carbon-fibre mesh? When that happens with structural concrete the expansion as the iron turns into rust spalls the shit out of the concrete and can render entire structures unsafe.
In the end, though, none of that matters. I suspect the wider motive here is turning your house into their grid. It's yet another method of stripping property rights from everybody except our new aristocracy.
rust motivated spalling is the reason that reinforced concrete buildings have useful lifespans measured in low decades rather than centuries. Something the environmentalists NEVER attempt to address.
Sounds like the tire fiasco all over again. Thousands of tires were dumped in the ocean to rebuild coral. It didn't work and cost a ton to fix.

I do think that in the long run, power cells of some sort with some degree of high energy storage/capacity are going to be the optimal alternative to a connective power grid. (Unless you like the idea of running plasma conduits or something under the streets)
But this shit is far too soon and far too useless to be remotely viable. And I don't trust the WEF to not come up with ideas that aren't intended to solely serve the interests of the elite.
Plasma would be great if contained properly. That's the catch for anything.
