Not really. The activism is only tolerated as long as it gives the government an excuse to do what it wanted anyway. Can't get it through the legislature? Have your pet activists push it through the courts instead.
The activists themselves might even be sincere, but their organizations exist by the grace of their funding, which will simply be pulled once they're no longer useful. They'll be too busy working real jobs to annoy anyone much anymore.
We have assisted suicide and illiterate children now ( thanks government lockdowns ). The movie was wrong about the demographic makeup of the illiterate youth though.
So essentially California has become a giant prison as you can't travel by any car, gangs rule the streets and you are restricted by what you can do or say
Just slap a giant wall around the state and you have a less fun version of Arkham city with increased fire hazards.
I'll never understand why companies in certain industries don't band together when governments do shit like this. If the top auto manufacturers had told California that they would stop selling cars there if they ban gas powered vehicles, the law would not have passed.
It's painful to forgo sales from a large market, but if the alternative to the up front pain is slowly having your industry destroyed, why don't they fight back?
I keep seeing people say this. They said to charge your car at night when it doesn't matter.
Yes, California and its electric grid are a third world disaster, and they are retarded to ban gas, but no one should be unable to drive due to it -- yet.
Next week: California announces eco-friendly plan for horse-drawn transportation
Week after: California asks horse owners to put the horses down to mitigate the tidal wave of manure the plan from the week before has generated.
The CA government is fine with shit in the streets. They'd complain that horse farts were causing climate change.
Eh, they'd turn their principles in in a heartbeat if they thought it'd give them a genuine chance at an authoritarian state.

Next decade: California bans watching of Soylent Green.
California announces new government food policy.
Heh.
I don’t know if folks realize this, but “Soylent Green” is set in…2022. (The book it is somewhat based on is set in 1999.)
Friends and I watched it last week. It is surprising how much of it is true today: I think one of my friends actually made a list.
We have assisted suicide and illiterate children now ( thanks government lockdowns ). The movie was wrong about the demographic makeup of the illiterate youth though.
There's also a brand of meal-replacement shakes called Soylent.
Nyc is banning horse drawn carriages to replace them with electric vehicles lol. But horse drawn carriages are a popular tourist activity.
If the end result of this is that the Amish take over California I'm calling it a net positive.
Newsom must be stopped from running for President. CA state GOP foolishly boosted his career with their failed recall.
Utterly destroying CA like this should disqualify Newsom from being allowed to run for any other higher office.
On the upside it would accelerate the entire clown world
So essentially California has become a giant prison as you can't travel by any car, gangs rule the streets and you are restricted by what you can do or say

Lol, Newsom standing in for Dr. Hugo is perfect.

It's all a scam.
you will need a camel to cross around favelafornia desert, not a car.
You can't have a car! You must use trains & busses with electronic cards for payment that can be banned whenever.
I keep seeing people say this. They said to charge your car at night when it doesn't matter.
