Meh, I had a “leftist” roommate the one year I had a college apartment. Took 3 months of getting drunk and doing guy talk. Most “leftist” guys are just men who grew up without a real father figure and are used to the female perspective on everything. I’ve been converting mild cases since then. There are “true believers” however they are overwhelmingly women.
Yeah, but when was that? A Democrat could be trusted pre-2015 before they all got the TDS update and became raging partisan zealots, and you could be forgiven for trusting some of them until 2020 when they literally started openly wishing for the death of anyone who disobeyed their masters. That was the real mask off moment for me. Pun unintended but welcomed.
If a current year leftist tries to talk to me about anything, I just give vague, non-committal responses under the assumption that they're recording me so they can set the Twitter mob after me to ruin my life when I say something slightly heretical. I don't trust them even a tiny bit any more, and I never will again.

They are mostly useless consoomer npc types and not actual militants. They need good father stand-in's wherever they can get them and any Chud rooming with them despite the seething is doing God's work. It is actually really aggressive and not naive. Naive is to take an internet boogeyman and become scared of it in everyday life, and to let the spectre of antifa or whatever command such a decision in your life- this accidentally lends them power that they don't actually own.
The nice thing about rooming with a Trump supporter is that you don't run the risk of living with a troon who decides that he wants you.
