It makes it harder to plant anything as they can pull up the cctv of what the pulled out and put in the boxes before they left.
The whole event has been an own goal like everything they've done to 'own the right/Trump', they are working on the presumption they have trusted institutions when people feel safer leaving their dogs in charge of their kids than any agencies.
It's looking that way.
Ordering the warrant/findings unsealed looks like an attempt to save face. They must have been certain they they were going to find a silver bullet to put Trump away - or at least out of politics - forever, because there's no way they didn't understand how bad this would look if they came up empty handed.
It reminds me of the Kim Dotcom mansion raid.
What stops them from opening the boxes later and putting "evidence" in them at that time?

Exactly. Secret warrant, no receipt for goods taken, cameras turned off at FBI's request. It's tailor-made for an accusation that an agent planted evidence.
And incredibly stupid. Let's say they did plant something. Do they not think that the Trump legal team would take their names and then scour their social media and past for any indication of bias? Even if the judge wouldn't allow it in court, they could simply release the info to the public and forever taint the perception of fairness of any trial.
you think perception matters to them. the Russian smear has been going on for 7 years, hunter's laptop has been known for 3 years, the election has been stolen for 2 years, they don't give a shit.
That video from Georgia of riggers fraudulently counting ballots didn't convince the left. They sent everyone home under false pretenses then counted votes without their court appointed observer that was ordered because of previous cheating.
The Trump CCTV could literally have FBI dressed as the Hamburglar showing them pulling out oversize check-sized documents marked "super valuable secret evidence" from their knapsack and the left would believe the FBI was just setting it down because their arm was tired.
The media would simply say "A video has been circulating on far-right conspiracy sites, where Trump devotees claim that giant man in prison stripes planted evidence at his estate - but the AP has fact-checked it as false and misleading. According to the FBI what their special crime-scene Hamburgerologist was shown doing on video is standard procedure." The NPCs would smile and nod and link those stories back to you as if that's some kind of own. (besides a self-own)
