"If I could get policymakers, and citizens, everywhere to read just one book this year, it would be Kim Stanley Robinson’s The Ministry for the Future." —Ezra Klein (Vox)

"They didn't want me put to death. They didn't want any men put to death. They didn't hate me, and they didn't hate men," Klein wrote. "'#KillAllMen' was another way of saying 'it would be nice if the world sucked less for women.' It was an expression of frustration with pervasive sexism.

I really despise that sort of weasel-worded attempt to avoid confrontation when they get called out.

If they're going to make intentionally inflammatory slogans, then they should have the backbone to stand up for it, instead of just backing off and going "that's not what we meant".

Let me guess, ham-fisted political commentary about how a bunch of deplorable strawmen ruined the climate and tried to destroy the Earth, and the only people who can stop them are an organisation of elites, and if you don't agree with their authoritarian Expert-backed orders polite suggestions, you're literally committing genocide against Mother Gaia?

So I looked up wtf this book is:

  1. A sort of "world government" globalist "Ministry for the Future" with $60 billion/yr budget.

  2. The whole point of the "Ministry for the Future" is to force banks/governments to print money to pay for "carbon credits"

  3. Cargo ships revert to using sails. People use blimps.

Cringe as fuck libtard wet dream fantasy about how globalism and authoritarian statism and money printing are going to solve a fake crisis that they just imagine in their heads.

Sounds like literal end times shit.

Set in the near future, the novel follows a subsidiary body, established under the Paris Agreement, whose mission is to act as an advocate for the world's future generations of citizens as if their rights are as valid as the present generation's.

Bet it doesn't apply to government debt.

So, they're strictly anti-abortion, right?

Nothing about what the book is about, just recommendations by three lefties.

I thought he was a good author. It was written in 2020 so I’m already suspicious.

Obama sometimes recommends good books. Like Patrick Deneen's book on liberalism.

The same is probably not true of Ezra Klein though.
