LMAO "Christian nationalist" the guy was calling actual Christian nationalists "dangerous" back in February and claimed he needed to spend more time attacking them.
I'm gracious to those who are gracious to others. James Lindsay wasn't. He quite frequently got into little spats with the further right, calling them "dangerous" and "morons". He seemed to think it was his duty to keep the far right from ever having political power.
He works for PragerU. His job is to make sure the right perpetually carves out room for Jewish idpol while excluding white idpol. Anything else he is prattling about is only a means to that end. I'm not surprised he eventually caved on "Christian Nationalism." There is a lot of momentum there so he can only swim upstream for so long before blowing his credibility, and it allows for Jewish idpol and isn't white idpol.
Boo hoo, he would cowardly snipe at people such as Auron MacIntyre by unblocking taking a shot and quickly reblocking. He is the rearguard for liberalism.
Things like that are pretty cringe but I wouldnt drop him outright.
Where Lindsay has value is being a relatively "sanitized" red pill dispenser for ClaSsIcAl LiBeRaLs and whatever conservatives and boomers see him.
Where he fails, of course, is still trying to fight for "classical liberalism" but I think his work is invaluable by laying the ground work for people to be more amenable to things that go beyond just that.
Would I be amenable to even listening to Academic Agent or, say, Auron MacIntyre even without stumbling upon Lindsay first? Absolutely not.
Don't punch right. Disagree certainly, but do so politely and cordially instead of calling them "dangerous".
Even people like Styx (who is probably further to the left than Lindsey) understand this and will openly discuss things in good faith with people far to their right without insulting them or telling others that they ought to be disregarded or ignored.
People like Styx disagree with people further to their right all the time. He used to do a show with Paul Ramsey, spoke with Richard Spencer back in the day.
Except he did it all without acting as though they were somehow his enemies.
it would be better if it actually were random, but these people punch right systematically. especially the Lindsey-types who are only catering to the middle-right because the Overton window shifted and knocked them off their pedestal. these people are pathologically prone to punching right and cannot be trusted
If anyone went to public school, or worse through multiple levels of college they have underwent ~2 decades of conditioning. Piled on top of that is the omnipresent crushing weight of the subverted culture and media, that anything to the right of mitt romney is the worst thing in the world.
We need to accept that very few people in the west grew up in with a support structure where being even slightly to the right of overton meant anything but signing your social death warrant.
It takes what might be a personality disorder to even consider ideas that have ingrained as the most heinous taboos since pretty much birth.
I don't even know what "systematically" means in this context. I'm guessing it means nothing, same as when leftists say it.
But besides that, this dude has spent the last several years tearing apart Marxist garbage and exposing leftist subversion and hypocrisy. As far as I know, he's actually the inventor of the "Ok groomer" meme. He's got an entire podcast series on Paulo Freire and literal "groomer schools."
I'd say he punches in a lot of directions. You might even say he's "systematically" punching left if you look at his New Discourses material that specifically targets leftist Marxist dogma.
And then stealing their ideas 6 months later. Because right-wing ideas are apparently "dangerous" until he decides they're correct, then they're "obvious".
All this nit-picking about Lindsay's alleged loyalties is bullshit.
He has performed a valuable public service by reading the central texts of critical studies' applied neo-Marxism and explicating them to a general audience who otherwise would have to slog through nearly unreadable academic writing.
His critique of, and his strong opposition to critical studies and neo-Marxist education is so valuable as to make your petty criticisms of his own political opinions irrelevant.
He is great and I praised him many times for melting his brain with the commie fartsniffing "literature" so I don't have to. Hearing his descent from dry academic reading to "fuck these people they belong in prison" over the course of his podcasts has been hilarious as well.
He just can't get over the hump that liberalism itself is the problem, not this particular manifestation of it. And that is fine, his existence and work gives a great resource to dispense purple pills with pedigree to normies who are still in the matrix.
I don't think James Lindsay should've been banned, but he is just a 90s liberal. Critiques of him are justified, because the problems we see can't be fixed just by rolling back to the 90s.
the problems we see can't be fixed just by rolling back to the 90s.
First convince people things would would be better rolling back to the 1990s. Once they are there its a lot easier to get them to see the 1890s would be better....then maybe further
Who cares about anything else, the most important thing he does is describe how marxism is infesting everything. He doesn't do anything else of worth does he?
If you want to know why and how drag queens entered elementary schools he's your guy.
LMAO "Christian nationalist" the guy was calling actual Christian nationalists "dangerous" back in February and claimed he needed to spend more time attacking them.
be gracious with those who are moving in the correct direction even if if they aren't a far along the path as we are
as long as they haven't embraced degeneracy as an identity they will eventually make it here

A lot of them are dangerous morons. But very self-defeating, as is your attitude here.
If someone declares themselves to be my enemy, as he did, I'm going to take them at their word.

Punching right can be useful, as it shows the difference between you and those individuals who are more right.
Many would be more comfortable with the left if they called out their own extremes. But they don't, so they drive people right.

Being sanitized and milquetoast isn't the problem. It's the randomly punching right and denouncing the people whose ideas he is using.

So you say he copied your ideas, and still you're mad?
The right is unwilling to take 'yes' for an answer.
When someone
That is not the behavior of someone acting in good faith.
What would he even have to say to MacIntyre that's negative? Just seething at him for being less milquetoast than himself?

90s liberalism is today's fascism. Literal Satanists in the 90s were further to the right than Republicans today

Being banned because of women reporting him not once, but twice, but I bet he still will not say a word against them.
You know who reported him?
Please tell me, I'll do free background check on them.
