While this is happening it looks like DC is getting purged of this hard. I will laugh if we end up with DC on the rise because they focus on content while Marvel sinks in apathy because hey care too much about diversity
Shazam was so fucking great. I'm dead serious--I'm actually excited for the sequel and Black Adam.
Pending further info, of course. If it's revealed they went woke, fuck 'em.
The actor for Shazam might be woke (apparently defending Amber Heard AFTER the verdict) but fortunately it's a Captain America situation where we can divorce the actor from the character
But with Batgirl shitcanned 90% of production done because it was too terrible, supergirl gone and flash is on the table, DC might not be as woke anymore since they now want money
Two race-swapped characters. Woke.
Blame the New 52 for that. Wasn't the movie's doing.
Perfect is the enemy of good.
Also why I gave that qualifier. I still love the first Shazam film, but if they push woke with the new ones, I can do without.
I gave up the NBA after over 25 years of being a fan. This would be easier.
DC is just as bad sadly in terms of the comics.
And... Gulp... Batwoman.
As one of the comments point it out:
One thing I will give Disney is that they are finally making more POC alphabet people. For a while it was just white gay handsome dudes
Maybe normies will start making the connection that every Bendis OC is like this, including Naomi and Teen Lantern, because he bases them all off his daughters.
And they're all shit characters.
I can't stand bendis
Much like Riri, TL steals her source of power from an established group. Riri's first suit is literally stolen parts.
It can't be more of a meme if you fucking try.
All DC has to do is give Cavill a good Superman movie.
Superman is difficult to write for, to be fair.
You think so? I’d say Mackie something inspiring. Not yet to do the modern deconstruction thing
Mackie?
Sorry. Typo. Make something inspiring. Granted it’s easier said than done. Superman and Spider-Man are my favorite characters due to their idealism. Lots of comic book stories they could adapt
Spiderman is easier because he has a bunch of classical issues that you can make drama out of. Superman either has to contend with kryptonite (done a thousand times before, good luck being original), or needs to have some psychological trouble to deal with (very difficult to do right in a superhero movie, especially without diminishing the character). Superman's just too powerful.
I suppose they could adapt the most popular comic arcs, but something new would be exceedingly difficult.
Oh yea. That’s true. I’ve read about that difficulty with Superman. Whereas Spider-Man doesn’t have that issue.
That dumbass whose name I can't remember is definitely right about "buck breaking" libs love trying to make black associated with homos
I remember when I first heard about that. Now I can’t unsee it. They do love gay poc
"Burgers?"
I’m sure the 10s of people who bought the first issue of the comic will be sure to not watch this with everyone else
As a life long comic book collector this really irritates me. It’s like one day marvel and DC thought that there was a massive amount of girls lined up to buy comic books and no matter all the evidence to the contrary they keep pushing the girl power
Not just girls….. girls with extraordinarily bad taste in stories and art.
The real joke here is that they're even making this show.
What is the appeal of the drag garbage anyway? I cannot overstate how repulsive it is to me.
I think it, like modern "art", is a grotesque form of money laundering that people have begun to either accidentally take seriously.
What. the. fuck. What is that creature? What percentage of it is plastic?
Considering what culo here looks like, might I suggest Blob?
Jesus fucking Christ.
What the fuck is that thing.
Wow. So obvious they care about comic books. I mean the creator of RIRi Williams must have really saw the demand for such a character. Clearly knowing the audience for comic books.
Ok everyone how soon before you are racist for not liking it?
