He's still right up at the very top in the humanities and social sciences. I suppose that he was in the right place at the right time, intellectualizing things that the academe wanted to hear. I do not see his 'contributions' as being of value.

Everyone knows that he was a homosexual. Hence him contracting AIDS in San Francisco, from which he died.

He was certainly a drug user. There is a story about how he first tried LSD in Arizona and claimed that it was as though he was born again.

He also advocated for pedophilia.

But I've never heard of anyone claiming that he was personally engaged in it: that's a first for me.

Loathe Foucault and his ilk, but tbh, I have a hankering to try LSD.

Heh, I would if I had even the slightest clue of where to get it. Never been into illegal substances.

Figured it was worth posting since it was still unknown to some in our circles. The great “power dynamics” Foucault was in fact a massive fraud and legitimate pedophile… oh and racist apparently.

oh and racist apparently.

You have to be in order to assume that filling the west with non-whites will make it easier to govern.

Any links to stuff about him being a fraud? I mean besides the fact that most prominent Marxists are.

Well the fact his entire life’s work was on “power dynamics” and the fact he was a serial rapist of young boys would actually discredit all of his work.

I mean that is his truthful existence, however what Foucault did was create the excuse for “intersectionality”. His life’s work was normalizing pedophilia through the concept of “power dynamics”. His teachings are why we have terms like systemic racism, and hidden white supremacy. He is still the most cited “scientist” in sociology.

I don't think philosophy makes a person more intelligent by studying it. In fact, I think it makes them less intelligent.

Smart people think for themselves. They don't pollute their minds with the bad ideas of others. You will never innovate by copy/pasting long dead idiots.

It depends on what you consider philosophy. I would argue that people like Foucault, Sartre, and Beauvoir should be read because their line of thought is what is currently being taught.

I don't need to read Marx to know Marxism is stupid. Why pollute my brain with stupidity?

Imagine thinking you are above sin, little worm. Thomas Sowell was a Marxist, do you declare yourself greater than him?

Sowell said he was a marxist for like 5 seconds in college until he realized how stupid it was.

No he didn’t, try actually listening to what Sowell has to say. Or maybe read one of his books. All you’re proving is that you are a product of you’re own stupidity.

Who the fuck is Foucault, some banker?

A "philosopher" and quite possibly the father of the current regressive "Social Justice" movement.

You might (rightly) blame Marx for their communism, or some early Feminists for that part of the cancer. But if you talk to a woke academic who thinks that you're "one of them," you'll discover that they're far far more likely to talk about Foucault. He brought a lot of these ideas together and packaged them up under a lens of power and control.

I'll borrow an insightful snippet from Wikipedia:

Foucault's theories primarily address the relationship between power and knowledge [and how the former is used to control and define the latter], and how they are used as a form of social control through societal institutions.

No, the Tunisian child rape admissions are more recent that the copy pasta. He was a known pedophile advocate before but no one was willing to be honest about his proclivities until now.

The admitting to his rape of young boys is new to 2021, when one of his sycophants admitting he raped Tunisian boys in a graveyard
