Right click an empty portion of the bar > search > show shearch icon. Now that bar is collapsed into just a psyglass, no more gay banners.

Or just set it to hidden because there's 0 reason to have a search bar or button on the taskbar. If you want to do a web search, I can 100% guarantee you have a browser window open, and if you want to do a local search just press the windows key and start typing. (As for Microsoft making it so the start menu search does both local and web searches, well the people involved with that should be banned from ever working on anything computer related again, but at least some registry edits can turn it off)

Fair enough, there may be. I've got a batch file that I just run on a new machine that does it so I haven't had to look for alternate means, but regardless the fact that there isn't just an easily accessible switch with options "search local files only" or "search local files and web" is just terrible design (from a user PoV, from a "M$ harvesting your data point of view it's a great idea)
It’s also their way of inflating bing and edge numbers through frustrating the user with accidental usage.
You can also right click the search bar, go to the search submenu then disable "Show Search Highlights" if you like the bar big but not with iconography.
Or use something like Open-Shell and the suite of other softwares to fix windows 10 to look more like the vastly superior products of old.

Widows is rapidly becoming unfit for purpose. This event is relatively minor in the grand scheme.
Other than circumstances like your work needing it, you should actively be transitioning away from Microsoft products.

I removed the images in the search bar the day they added it. I really wish there was a bigger support for Linux amongst game developers and software makers.
Last week I booted up my computer, and the login screen had some fucking PR fluff for the Rothschilds on it. I barely glimpsed it before I had already logged in, but man did that fucking annoy me.
I'm seriously going to have to stop using Windows at this rate, because I don't trust it at all.
