I never watched the show, but isn't he supposed to be a redneck stereotype? Anyone rural looking would do to delude themselves into thinking they're superior in intelligence.
Not really a redneck since he lives a suburban life but very Southern/Christian, yeah. He's one of those exceedingly hardworking handyman/salt of the earth types.
Yea I loved the show because it pokes fun at Texas culture in a loving way but Hank stands on his principles and the show doesn’t mock his values
It honestly falls into that "creator tries to mock something but ends up making it seem appealing" category, kind of like Rorschach, though not to that extreme.
The show is satirical at times but I cannot remember any mockery other than Dale's conspiracies
