Well it's obvious, even in my worst days I'm not as bloodthirsty as the archetypical post-modernist, once you believe you're on the side of the light and supreme greater good whatever actions you're doing can only be for the good of all and any people opposing you can only be either grossly naïve and uneducated or straight up evil, which is convenient since it's morally justifiable eliminating evil, by all means necessary and since it takes courage, money and balls to fuck with politicians or journalists, random ass motherfuckers like you and me become the de facto path of least resistance.
Allow me this low common denominator quote but I think it's still relevant: “Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
It's effective rhetoric, it's an attempt to shift the overton window. "I'm moderate, therefore these policies too my left aren't too far fetched, and we can go further while still being reasonable."
You're deluded if you believe it sure. But it's an effective meme with a specific purpose. Don't just write them all off as incompetent, some of them actually are evil.
But we don't have our perfect utopia like my high school English teacher promised me we would and I can't afford soylent or hemp toilet paper anymore and THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH WHAT I BELIEVE SO IT HAS TO BE CONSERVATIVES' FAULT!

I used to be Progressive about 6 years ago. Speaking from my past self, for a progressive Biden is seen as a moderate Democrat corporatist. Hillary too was vilified as much by progressives as Trump supporters (which is what led me to become a Trump supporter and eventually a dissident on the "right".) They see "true progressiveism" as little more than hurting the rich and helping the poor but of course in a much more intellectualized articulation. The progressives have it half right just like the conservatives have it half right - the progressives (at least back when I was a progressive) see the main foe as powerful moneyed interests. The normiecons see the main foe as the big government. Chad dissident righters see it's the government and moneyed interests working together under mostly Jewish or freemason (Jewish for goys) direction and leadership.
We have seen other glimpses of this “outside” strategy by D.C. progressives, such as AOC’s sit-in at Nancy Pelosi’s office alongside the Sunrise Movement right after she was first elected, bringing the Green New Deal to the mainstream discourse.
