The only reason Firefox makes it into the news anymore is because of censorship and political activism. No wonder they're going the way of the dodo. Good riddance.

Not good riddance, Sad! Firefox is better at some things like customization.

For example I can drag links into a windows and replace the tab instead of making a new tab, which Google prohibits because open tabs keep tracking connections open.

I would use SingleFile extension in Brave to save all pages I visit, but it puts a 50 pt high download banner at the bottom of every window on any page visit, which in Firefox you can turn off.

Lots of hard work by normal people went into making Firefox and it's a shame to have it ruined by these freaks.

I only use firefox because when you have a load of tabs open, it doesn't scrunch them up to fit on one page. It does seem to be run by authoritarian twats though. I should bite the bullet and close some tabs.

Scrolling tabs can be enabled in Chromium and some Chromium-based browsers using the chrome://flags/#scrollable-tabstrip setting.

The biggest problem the last time I tried it was lack of feedback upon opening a tab in the background like you get in Firefox-based browsers.

Great, now you've enabled him (and me) to keep our old tabs open forever.

Just use Waterfox or some other Firefox clone. I switched to Waterfox Classic a few years ago because "new" FF stopped working with some old extensions I use.

Waterfox Classic

Shame they shit the bed by updating existing users to the "new" Waterfox (based on the "new" Firefox) and are concentrating development on that now, making Waterfox Classic a separate and less-supported version.

The more people using FF forks the more sites do more testing, the more bug reports, upstream patches, and support for FF.

I despise their mental illness and the people who enable it and I want Mozilla to fail.

So I'll put up with some annoyances in Brave to 'vote with my browser' since it's the most anti-woke and being created by Eich is an extra fuck you to Mozilla. Maybe that's small and petty but I don't give a shit. Zero tolerance.

There is no competition if Firefox dies man. The alternative is worse. If the entirety of the Internet only uses ONE browser that's bad for everyone in general.

Competition is good if it's competent. Bullshit-peddlers and far-left activists only make things worse.

It also seems that Mozilla no longer considers its browser their product. Their "products" are censorship, curation and telling people what to think. That's not really competition when it comes to browsers and that shit is a dime a dozen these days.

And you think google is nonpolitical then.
