There is a part of me that wants to buy it since I love Skyrim but my nerd annoyance with GRRM is pretty strong. I know he owes me nothing but as a courtesy to his readers he could just say he has no interest in finishing Ice and Fire or hire someone to finish it.

No. We don't know if a port is even coming period. If there is, I wouldn't expect to hear anything about it for at least three months. At this point, it would just compete with Elden Ring.
weird, i just assumed the whole PC getting mentioned on the realease trailer was ill-timed... are you telling me it wasnt meant to be on there at all??
The only official word we have from Sony on that is "The incorrect text was a result of human error," and "Demon’s Souls is exclusive to PlayStation 5." We can speculate all we want, but we can't really confirm either way if Sony ever intended to port DeS to PC just yet.
If anything, GRRM was probably given a good paycheck but no royalties, but don't quote me on this. Base your decision on your feelings for FromSoft.
I pretty much need to get a new computer to play it (the new consoles can fuck off), and since that's not a decision I want to make in haste, I won't be getting it on day one. Though it's just as well; my hype for the game dropped like a rock once people began releasing their footage from the CNT. The open world format it's gunning for is NOT doing it for me; the level design and environments look like a big step down from From Software's previous titles, and I don't find the idea of spelunking through one interchangeable cave after another all that enthralling. Doesn't help that Elden Ring's open world looks worse than other open world games; the landscape just isn't as interesting as it is in the likes of The Witcher 3, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and others, and it looks graphically worse than them too.

Unfortunately I’ve seen previews and it is still body type a/b. I blame Bambco for that one.
Maybe next year or something. I've got more than enough games for this year, so I don't expect to buy much. I'm wary anyway because I don't like Souls games all that much. Overall it does look pretty sweet though.

We're getting to the point where games developed in Japan are the safest bets you can make when trying to avoid the woke nightmare the industry has become. While the souls genre isn't my first choice, we're looking at a rough year for playable releases so I'm glad to have this as an option.
Just a heads up, early comparisons have the PS5 being the best performing console for Elden Ring by a good constant 5-8 FPS and less than half the load times of the XSX. Also, the deluxe edition is $20 more for just a digital art book and soundtrack, which is a shit deal.

Hell yeah. Preordered and got my vacation time in. Other than cyberpunk I haven’t been hyped for a game like this in years
How is cyberpunk
With a few QOL and difficulty mods it's passable. Even then, there is zero challenge and is an inferior version of all the stories it steals from. It is worth around 20 dollars if you have a 3080 or comparable gpu.
Alternatively, there are a few recent (non rpg) cyberpunk games if you really need to scratch that itch.
