California's 90th annual "Tree Lighting" refuses to use word "Christmas" in their ceremony, opens with an Indian Tribe blessing where they pray to their pagan god (www.youtube.com)

Also they had a Jewish rabbi do a prayer too. In addition to the Indian Tribe prayer I mentioned.

But no Christian prayer, nor do they say Merry Christmas or call it a "Christmas Tree".... at a goddamn CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING, that's been a tradition for NINETY YEARS.

Fuck me...

Don’t forget the random Jewish candle lighting...wtf does that have to do with CHRISTMAS.

An entire event inspired by, about, and for CHRISTMAS, doesn’t mention it once, but somehow managed to mention like 9000 other religions and cultures.

I don’t care if Hanukkah was only December 2nd, and only during the moment they lit the candle, and even if it was the biggest holiday ever in the world.

It’s a Christmas event. Not a Hanukkah event.

But western society has been hijacked and neutered.

You don’t see Hanukkah events celebrating Jesus...

I mean it’s supposed to be a Christmas event. I didn’t think I needed to spell everything out

Don't worry, I am surprised if there will even be a tree next year since cutting down trees is environmental terrorism.

I am sure the uninjected were barred from participating in any capacity.

California doesn't deserve Christmas anyway, they don't even have snow.

I mean, they do. Just not in the larger cities… Even Sacramento gets snow, though, my dude…

I’m not sure if San Fran does or not…

Couple of hundred years of your democracy (arguable, I know), too, and ending up with this…

Not a great feeling, is it..? 😑

Traditions build communities and this one is not based around a corporate product.

Huh... When I read "California" and "tree lighting", I had a different, fiery image in mind.

This is, quite literally, what life in much of urban Australia is like, and has been for quite some time…

Welcome to my world, Yankee frens… 😒 It fucking sucks.

I’m not sure how common “tree lighting ceremonies” actually are, here (though they definitely do happen. I just haven’t lived in a big city where it’s quite so prominent for a while!), but I guarantee you, that where they DO occur, they’ll be preceded by either an “Acknowledgement of Country” (white guilt ceremony, done by whitey), or, more likely and more “wokely”, a “Welcome to Country”, which is where an Abo verbally shits on you for five minutes, calls you evil whitey and tells you how they own the land (and by extension everything on it), and “have managed it sustainably since literally the dawn of time”…

This doesn’t just go for tree lightings, though. It goes for every public event.

You know how you guys sing the anthem at every sporting event, and/or raise a flag..? This occurs AT LEAST as frequently as that, if not more so…

Some MEETINGS of suitably woke organizations, and even art shows, do it, too… It’s an enormous fucking grift, and it disgusts me…

I'm just waking up and I thought this was New York City..

Wait. Didn't New York's tree mysteriously vanish in a puff of fire or something?
