This is effectively what Fauci said in March of 2020 when he was asked when the lockdowns will end and he said when there are zero covid cases. What's disturbing about that comment is the fact that the human race has never entirely eliminated any time of viral infection to zero cases in its entire history and exactly no news outlet ever questioned Fauci's judgement on the matter.
Then you look at the restrictions in Tasmania and the entire island state is essentially a fucking prison: No visitors to homes allowed. Leaving home only allowed for emergency food shopping, caring for elderly/disabled, "permitted" work, outdoor exercise 2 hours a day, valid doctors appointments.
