These clowns are absolute shit at their job. What kind of actual game enthusiast fails at nearly every single damn game and screams, "tHiS iS LiKe dArK sOuLs! wHy iS iT sO HarD!?"
Of course they whine they can't change the difficulty, as usual. If you're such a shit gamer that you completely fail at moderately average difficulty games, maybe you should write about something more your speed, like board games?
But then we'd probably get some retarded didactic lecture about why Checkers is the "Dark Souls" of board games — and also inherently racist.
I just stared playing Far Cry 6 (I know, I know), and one of the first things it does when you start is ask if you want to play with a challenge or just enjoy the story. I was wondering who in the world that would apply to, and I think I got my answer.
The devs want to cater to the Let's Play watching audience.
They'd be shit at board games too. Probably worse comparatively.
I don't understand why these people even want to play video games. The fun is in getting good enough to beat that boss that you spent twenty attempts learning the patterns of. Then you get to feel like a badass because you, personally, are making the character move like a badass. I don't feel like a badass whenever the game strips away my control and makes me watch a cutscene of my character acting badass. (Though I will say Dread did a good job making even the cinematic counters interactive by letting the player mix up what attacks they use so they can find optimal strategies.)
They don't, but it's the only writing job with a low enough bar to clear.
Did you fall into a coma in July 2014? We've known for seven years now that game journos are subversive radical Marxists who hate gamers and anything that appeals to them. They don't want to play videogames. They want to capture videogames as another avenue for the dissemination of leftist propaganda.
I just started playing it yesterday. Sure, the EMMI zone pursuits are really goddamn annoying, but "OmG hArD sOuLs" has no place being mentioned in regards to this game. I wonder if that article has a comment section with the author getting ripped by people tired of the claim.
The last paragraph of the article was terrible, but the article makes me want to ask. How bad is the difficulty curve? Some games get progressively harder up to a point where I feel like I hit a wall and have no way to train myself over it and just lose interest. Typically Metroid has a near perfect difficulty curve where the end is hard, but it trains you how to get there every step of the way.
Also, Metroid isn't an RPG where you can grind your way to making it easier, but it does reward exploration and curiosity with making the game easier. Explore enough and you get extra health and missiles, making it easier to brute force your way through a challenge that otherwise might be too hard. It still has that, right?
I'm only in the second area, 2/7 EMMIs down. Getting caught by EMMI is the only Game Over I've experienced thus far.
Sounds like hes really just bad
Needs a Pigeon Difficulty for those slackers to try.
Wait no, that's still too much for them!
git gud or get out
I love dark souls. He uses a sword and doesn't afraid of anything
On a completely unrelated note, does anyone know if Metroid Dread is going to be released on PC?
It already is
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Cool, thanks.
All of the websites were saying i was only available on Nintendo Switch. However, it was available on PC via emulators.
Can you at least buy a copy of the game? I don't care if you never actually use the copy of the game or if you find an ISO online somewhere, but the game just came out (and I want more Metroid in the future)
Y CANT METROID CRAWL
-game journalists in 2021
I can't believe game developers are still denying game journalists life-saving easy modes.
Lol you mean reviewer-modes is what they should be called.
I could understand their argument if the game was like those incredibly difficult games on NES or other older consoles, like Battle Toads or TMNT (even though they're fun), but I'm pretty sure they're not. It's just that most modern video games are quite easy and hand hold people so much that when a slightly difficult game comes out the game journalists prove just how coddled and retarded they really are.
If I was to ever develop the game, I would offer a "journalist" mode that does not allow saving or loading. Forget Ironman mode, they'd be going full arcade.
Lol, send them copies that LOCK it to that mode and don't' allow them any other mode.
Make them special "review copies" that have all these promises of "special features" in it lol.
Lol my favorite part of that quote is "for whatever reason."
Yeah maybe cause it is a freakin' game that is supposed to be.... somewhat of a challenge?
