literally the opposite of dissenting and resisting.
On social media, there are hundreds and hundreds of comments by wokies cheering a woman getting cancer. Most of them calling it 'karma' for... her husband disagreeing with their lunacy.
So they are cheering even though it has nothing to do with covid. Desantis got the vaccine but won’t force others to do so. For the life of me I don’t get why they are obsessed with him. Well, he doesn’t go along with the hysteria

they have been programmed out of any semblance of joy in their lives and blame the "other side" for their misery - when they could have been perfectly happy if they just disregarded to the "intellectuals" who only want to use them as cannon fodder in the "revolution"
This is an ideological commitment. As Sowell explains, that is the difference between the tragic vision and the vision of the anointed. The former believes that imperfection and brokenness is part of the human condition. But the latter believes in the perfectability of society and humans, and believes that the only problem is that others are not as wise and enlightened as they are.
The latter vision basically requires you to view your opponents as malignant and malevolent, which is why that is so common on the left.
Most people have a mixture of the two visions. These are ideal types. It is just a predisposition to view your opponents as evil if you think every problem springs from their lack of virtue and wisdom, rather than the fact that human life and human civilization will always be imperfect and that we need the best structures to deal with these imperfections and minimize them.
At least Lovejoy doesn't want to see all non-Christians shoveled into a mass grave. The woke actively cheer genocide, and their leaders gleefully enact it. If there's one thing I never felt during the height of the dreaded Religious Right, it was threatened. I'd take no swear words or boobs in my video games ever again if it meant not watching my race be exterminated by people who hate me. Only a lunatic wouldn't.
