They like elephant toothpaste and quantum locking and animated 3D renders of black holes. Spectacles that can be easily captured in a 10 second TikTok video. Their idea of "science" hasn't evolved since they were 8 years old. That being "cool thing happens when scientist performs a magic ritual".
It's basically the adult version of a clown making balloon animals. They laugh and clap without fully, or even partially, understanding how it happened. But understanding how it happened isn't necessary. All they need to know is that it looks cool.
Just for the hell of it I decided to go to iflscience dot com to see how right I was. There are exactly two kinds of article.
1: "INSANE thing happens WHOA DUDE it's CRAZY you'll NEVER BELIEVE number SEVEN"

I wasn't expecting the second type, but I'm also not surprised in the slightest. Seems like any site that deliberately attracts morons is full of propaganda. No correlation I'm sure.

I'll maybe give them some chemistry since a lot of them are probably high most of the day, but math has been under attack for years now as a tool of the heteronormative white supremicist colonizer patriarchial trumptards. Physics, I just don't think they notice. Unless you're at a very elementary level there it's not nearly flashy enough to attract their interest, and even doing the elementary stuff requires a level of logic, math and effort they're not capable of.
They like those fun science outreach programs where someone makes different coloured bursts of flame or runs arcs from a Tesla coil. Or a TV show where an ex-stripper opines dramatically over a 3d artists rendition of a planetoid. Or when people tell them what to think about political science and sociology in quirky podcasts presenting only summarised conclusions.
Anything but actual data and fundamental logic basically. So academic math is the last thing they usually pay attention to.
They love politicizing science and using cherry picked results as a weapon. They are too stupid and lazy to understand any useful, actual science or math.
And yes, they hate evolutionary biology and biological reality. I mean, they deny biology to such an extent some even think veganism isn’t 100% retarded.
