I've started to be reminded of a documentary I saw 20 years ago about Southern moonshine culture. You'd hear through word of mouth that someone had a still and sold shine, you'd go over there, put some money in a tree stump, walk away and do something else for 10 minutes or so, then when you returned to the tree stump there was a jar of moonshine waiting for you. If you put out good product the local sheriff would tip you off before raids so you didn't get caught or your still destroyed.
I suspect there is going to be a lot of that sort of informal economy in every aspect of society. If you're not allowed to go to the grocery store, then maybe you know a farmer and he just sells you meat or produce. Or you grow your own food. Can't go to a restaurant? Well one of your neighbors does "BBQ Thursday" and always cooks extra for friends and family. Bring a side, some beer, or some cash.
The first thing that needs to be done is to setup self-sufficient systems outside government control; people are afraid to act because they think the state keeps them alive.
This also builds support groups in an approachable way, rather than trying to find a bunch of guys looking to burn down legislatures or what have you.
But another part of me wants to band together with a group of like minded people and get things done.
I share this sentiment. Shit's bad and I'd like to make some sort of effort to correct the course we're on since I know I'm not the only one who sees trouble on the horizon, but everyone around me is determined to look the other way.
This is the thing. Part of me would love to move to the middle of nowhere and shut out the world. But another part of me wants to band together with a group of like minded people and get things done.
Why not both? Coming from the middle of nowhere, to the coast, and back again, I can tell you that most people outside the major metropolitan areas don't really think about Covid all that much. You still have mask policies in hospitals and airports but even those are sometimes ignored.
Nobody gets tested when they have the sniffles so there are no "alarming" number of cases. Not many are getting or plan on getting vaccinated. Most people are just out living life like always.
The problem becomes, no one has a plan for when those types of policies are more forcefully imposed. You can openly air grievance against the mainstream narrative without too much fear of rebuttal. But because of that freedom, many assume it will always be business as usual.
The thing is, they are half right. The system needs to be destroyed but then salt mixed in with the ashes and the whole thing abandoned. I know it's hard to imagine life without a boot to your throat buy it's possible to go for a generation or two before things get bad enough again. The problem is we wait to many generations to reset the cycle.
The leftists indoctrinated their kids and sent them to infiltrate positions of power. Over 30 years those kids took over the schools, media and government, not to mention technology giants.
We need to do the same thing except our kids need to learn the fundamentals of democracy and push for them constantly.
It won't be dramatic, or soon, but if we can re-take the institutions with generations of kids who prioritize freedom over safety we can recover.
I'm not sure not voting is benefiting anything. What do I gain, a few minutes of my time in a year? Particularly since there are still a lot of local elections that aren't screwed with yet. Even if it's rigged, what can participation hurt?
I don't think an effective solution exists yet. At the moment I think it's just waiting, trying to keep our heads on straight, and not get demoralized. Historically solutions don't present themselves overnight. The Declaration of Independence spoke of "patient sufferance" and the revolution built up over years, not months.
Yeah I wouldn't argue we have as long as the colonists did. Things just move faster with the media and technology today. Outside of that the only plan I can come up with is to encourage local resistance and keep local government clean.
As much fun as it might be for some to call for how we all need to rise up and start throwing tyrants out of helicopters, typically the best proposal I ever see from these type people is "you are all pussies you should be out doing something!" while also sitting around not doing what they are asking for. If I were to see a plan for a violent uprising with enough force that I thought even had a 1% chance of making a positive change, then I'm all ears. I can't even think of something that would scratch the surface at this point.
Not my take (yet) but voting is like masturbating. You get to feel good about yourself and your lizard brain is convinced that you participated in something meaningful. The problem is, you waste your natural drive to participate in something that actually produces anything. You've quieted the signals that normally drive men to improve themselves and their surroundings.
Bullets. Call me a glowie, call me fed poster, call me whatever you will, I do not care anymore. The only way out of this I see is bullets. When people get rdy to stand up together I will be there. I'm not far from standing up by myself. Luckily I live in an area where it is relatively not as bad. But I am currently willing to stand beside my based countrymen and help us all take back the country as it is supposed to be.
Rule 2: I have not pointed out any one person anywhere to use the bullets on. I wonder what would have happened in 1774-75 if every bar stopped all talk of how bad the Crown was and said we don't allow that around here because it might make the crown mad. We eventually as a group have to stand up and say we just aren't going to take it anymore. We don't care what your rules are, we reject your rules, your edicts, your mandates. When, as a people, do we take our freedoms back and anyone who tries to deny us our freedoms meets the business end of our negotiating tactics.
Participate. Go to your city or township office and meet those people. No one comes to our township meetings so now that they have pot farms moving in they have complaints.
Voting doesn’t make a difference and it’s only a matter of time before it’s traced back to you. Plus it only serves to instill hopium & “faith” in the system that is then crushed when it meets reality. I’m not going to legitimize an illegitimate vote by participating in it. You shouldn’t either.
The solution is local involvement, taking control of the GOP apparatus in your state (not a fan of Republicans, but you only have two options), and secession. Decentralization leading to state secession is a real politician solution that requires an implied threat of violence but not necessary actual violence. (that's up to the feds)
I think if we can focus on taking over red states and convincing them to put decentralization (parallel governance) on the table, we reduce the fear of glowie infiltration, because we are working within an existing legal framework. Then the burden of responsibility shifts to state government, which we can more easily put pressure on than DC politicians.
An alternative to secession is a convention of the states.
You live in a democracy with universal voting. The majority likes this society and wants it more progressive, more communist. They are too stupid to understand the consequences.
What possible, practical “solution” could possibly exist? By solution do you mean forcing your minority values and ideals onto the majority? Not only is that not practical, it’s also pretty damn arrogant.
Join and insular community that shares your culture and values. Leave the country. Or possibly, form your own (peaceful) community and isolate yourself from the mob.
Yes they do. But the refugees don't stay because the Poles don't give you money for existing. Here, you have to get a job, and interact with Poles.
Poland has very straightforward immigration laws, and it is quite easy to immigrate. I would suggest looking into getting a temporary work visa, and getting a job at one of the tech companies in Łódź--fujitsu is always hiring and they need english speakers. It's not a good job, but it'll make it very easy to get a temporary stay followed by a permanent visa.
You will want to shell out 800 euros to take an intensive Polish lession through the local university or one of the language schools in the city. Polish is difficult, but not impossible and quite rewarding to the learn. The Poles are very welcoming if you speak polish.
Just remember, you won't get fuck all from the government unless you are a polish citizen, and the Poles won't be your friend if they don't see you trying to fit in. Get a job, learn the language, and you'll have a good time.
Don't expect the same standard of living as middle-class Americans, but it is very comfortable here.

Yeah, I like this.

That is called insanity.

I think it's actually the opposite.

You shouldn't always do what you think is right. That's how we ended up with 75.3 genders and marshmallows lecturing us about Covid
We should do what God calls us to do. Begin with prayer.

Imagine being afraid of feds you can spot from a mile away.
We outnumber them 80 million to one.
Oh, voting absolutely isn't real, but you should still vote anyway, just to make it harder on them to pull off the fraud.
you go to vote anyway.
The solution is to vote anyway, stockpile weapons, take measures to evade taxes, and prepare for civil war.
Uh huh. This post has a lovely, radium-esque hue to it...

The solution is glowing
There is no political solution.
Make preparations with that in mind.
The solution? insert fedpost here

Vote but if the election is high profile (like presidential, fed senator, governor) I don't expect anything.
My hope is with the local races that they don't have the manpower to tamper with.
Solution? Stock up on ammo, learn gardening/canning/survival skills. It'll come handy one day.
Guns, God, and courage.

Can't accidentally look like we aren't scared to defend ourselves huh.
