Yeah I wouldn't argue we have as long as the colonists did. Things just move faster with the media and technology today. Outside of that the only plan I can come up with is to encourage local resistance and keep local government clean.

As much fun as it might be for some to call for how we all need to rise up and start throwing tyrants out of helicopters, typically the best proposal I ever see from these type people is "you are all pussies you should be out doing something!" while also sitting around not doing what they are asking for. If I were to see a plan for a violent uprising with enough force that I thought even had a 1% chance of making a positive change, then I'm all ears. I can't even think of something that would scratch the surface at this point.
