"Tasmania to make masks mandatory at events of 1,000 people or more." Tasmania hasn't had a single case in eighteen months. There hasn't been a single death in the state in longer than that. During that period, masks were never required anywhere outside of airports. This was never about the virus. (archive.is)

Look, I've just had a bit of a realisation, which breaks. my heart, and may very well kill me...

Australia is now in the throes of a death cult. Everyone here has collectively gone mad. Like most of you would have seen in your parts of the world last year. Except with no cases. No logic. No fucking reason.

Except for a very, very small online community of which I am a part, this rhetoric is universal. It is everywhere. Everyone is consumed by fear. Everyone is spreading panic, and lies. Society is broken. The whole social contract is broken. I'm not sure there's any way back from this. So... For those of who are still capable of thinking differently... I don't see much of an out. I'm completely broken.

If, things continuing like this, I do take "the easy out", and if I manage to get there, this time... Just... Well, I genuinely hope that you guys can keep the fight going, and push back where you can. And try and bring other people to... See things a bit more broadly. And finally, know that I did my best, and I tried really fucking hard, but sometimes... Sometimes the tide just drowns you. :-(

Don’t bitch out and kill yourself because your life won’t be as comfy as it used to be. Stay alive and use the suffering to fuel the fight that you or others who come after you will take to the oppressors down the road even if it is a decade or more away.

My heart breaks reading stuff like this. I'm not sure what you mean by taking "the easy out" but I hope it's not suicide.

There isn't much hope for based Australians right now but you have to try your best to stay healthy and alive because if things are ever going to turn around it'll only be because of people like you who see what's happening.

I know my words aren't much of a consolation. Just wanted you to know that you aren't alone.

... you have to steel your resolve, put your foot down, and say, "no."

Bro if you're actually to the point of killing yourself just move. Being an ideological refugee has to be better than that.

The Southern US is more or less back to normal and the cost of living is low.

He can't leave. Australians are literally locked into their country and are not allowed to travel.

Petty tyrants screaming and pissing themselves that not everyone is bowing and kissing their feet often flex their powers in minor ways to prove they are in charge.

Yeah. Did you read the article?? The dismissal of the Catholic church, in it, is just... Shows you they don't give a shit about anything but their petty political power. They don't even care to pretend this is "moral", anymore. It's just "what we say goes"...

Even the language used by the CHO, "Conscientious objection to preventable death". Fuck me...

On a very personal note, I'm not sure I can do this, anymore. I'm done. Not with this forum. I mean... The much larger battle, to just... Keep going. So...

I dunno, man. I'm pretty damn broken, at this point. I really am. :-(

None of this makes any sense. None of it is right. And yet... No one here even fucking cares.

Yeah, look, I'm out.

Your world has fallen. I'm sorry, I wish there was something I could do to stop those damn self-righteous monsters.

Heh, yeah. Thanks.

Honestly, just... Look after people in your own life better than I did. I think that would be something. Because you just... Never know when the tide is gonna swallow you up, or when you'll hit my limit.

Apparently mine is today, and realising there is no out of this. Australia is done, now. "Cooked", we would say.

I guess just try and stop that from happening in America or wherever you are. Because we couldn't stop it from happening here. There just... Wasn't enough of us who cared, I guess. :-( Or we didn't care enough.

Can you get to the outback? Bush country might be pushing it, but there's places kinda off the grid that's got to be at least semi-free.

You've figured out which state I'm probably in, yeah..?

There isn't really any outback, per se, here. But there's a fuck off massive wilderness out there, that yes, I am very much just... Considering wandering off into. I mean, it's... Vaguely like Alaska, but slightly less cold.

But yeah, I've been thinking about a little place called Queenstown, on the West Coast of island-that-I'm-not-going-to-name-directly. It's not like the Queenstown in NZ. This one is known as... A redneck, rough nut, tough kind of place. Mining town. Surrounded by literally dead wilderness, and dead rivers, because they killed it all with sulphur (unintentionally, lol). Effectively in the middle of nowhere. I can't imagine they'll stand for this shit, to the same extent, out there. Like, it's so tough that they have a gravel football oval, because the grass would not grow there (imagine tackling an opposition player on fucking bluemetal gravel, and you get the idea), so... Yeah.

There's a few others - Tullah, Rosebery, Fingal, a place called literally fucking "Savage River". I'm not quite sure how I would get there, or what I would do, but I suppose if I'm at the point of... Effectively blowing it all anyway, as society here crumbles, it's... Something, at least.

See that's the thing, though: Taswegians are meant to be tough, no-nonsense, "salt of the earth" type folks (except for the hippie drippy freaks, who are also everywhere, in the cities), and yet... We have this happening. Under a "conservative" government.

I just... Up is down and down is up, and I am really struggling to comprehend it all, these days. :-/

There's a decent-size mountain range remarkably close to where I am currently living (to dox myself even more). I suppose walking off into the bush up there might not be so bad. As long as society didn't figure out where I was. Because, see, this is not the kind of place where one can just wander off into the bush, at will, and not be chased down. For your own "safety". Even without having committed any sort of crime... They'll just hunt you down with their "rescue" choppers, and charge you with "lighting a fire in a nature reserve" or "walking off track and polluting the water catchment", or something...

Fuck man, I wish I was making any of this shit up, but I'm not. :-(

Agreed. Very much agreed. Bizarre to think that I used to want to be one, to "make a real difference", or whatever... Even like, 4-5 years ago. Alarming... O_o

Side note: why is every online commentator from the US so... Manic? Lol..

Like, I'm trying to watch Elijah Shaffer and Sydney Watson's new video, today, and Elijah is just... Fucking all over the place. Which is saying something, coming from someone as scatterbrained as I am. Sydney seems like a voice of calmness and reason, by comparison...

Is that normal, in like, Texas? To just yell and rant and go off on a random angry tangent like that, like I do here, sometimes, I guess, in written form..? Or is that just him?

Because it's kind of alarming to watch, as an Australian. People here... Don't really do that so much, in my experience. Not in the same way, anyway...

Do what you are told, you feral island piglets. Learn from your Australian piggie friends: disarm and lick boots for dinner.
