This is an interesting sentiment. I'm curious how the Western media will respond to China making women get back in the kitchen and pop out babies? Usually they're licking up anything that Winnie The Pooh is spilling out of his orifices, but will they also adhere to China's old-fashioned tradcon values for the next generation?
I'm not so sure. The Hong Kong crowd? Sure. They're educated and know their history, so they don't want any part of what the CCP is selling. But what about the main land Chinese? Many of them are as brainwashed as the typical Lefty in America. Consuming State propaganda the way a lot of people consume CNN and the fear-porn hysteria pushed by the mainstream media.
If they're convinced that women getting back in the kitchen will get them laid, and the State promises some sort of social credit benefit (as mentioned above) then would they really rebel?
China figured encouraging male children to grow weak, soft and effeminate into perpetual teenagers makes them repulsive to women, who won't reproduce with them.
It's also horrible for the long term mental health of those boys. Male suicide rates of males among demoralized ethnic groups are high.
Anyway, at least one major nation seems to be lucid enough to figure each generation being 50% - 60% the size of the previous one means collapse is comming soon, in historical time frame.
We'll see if they can do anything effective about it.

One of the huge demographic issues in China is the excess male population, or rather, the extremely overt lack of females. This was brought about as a direct result of the "one-child" policy the communists instituted a generation ago. They failed (as all centrist planners do) to predict the obvious outcome of their "well meaning" law. Gender-based abortions despite being made swiftly illegal when the practice became noticed, were commonly performed to guarantee male heirs for families trying to cope with the notion that they could only have one child, period.
Despite extreme efforts to stop this practice, China never managed because the necessity of a son was so great the people in great numbers went to any length to ensure it.
The result was the generation that came of age in the 90s-00s whom were so skewed male it is beyond laughable that we in the west think we have an 'incel' problem. Try existing in a population with a gender ratio that ensures your chances of finding a mate is less than being struck by lightning twice.
Effeminate males are as much a coping strategy for this generation of Chinese as it is any sort of western influence they might blame it on. These men are finding comfort in each other because there are literally no women to be had.
If the Chinese government want to quash that release valve, then they are soliciting revolutionary sentiment. There are few things humans will naturally value above their own lives, but food, family, and romance are close to that cut-off point.
Why would they do this, then? The same reason they ban video games. They are blind authoritarians who don't understand how important it is for anyone, but men especially, to have a relief. Relief of fun, relief of sex. It's all debauchery in the eyes of the dictator who is satisfied in his palace, but it's a dire imposition for the serfs who are just trying to cope.
I've also read there's an additional problem. Women tend to be sent to work in cities to the east while men tend to work on farms in the west. So add to that the problem that the men all live in Montana, Nebraska, Idaho, etc and all the women are in New York City, Philadelphia, and Boston.
They won't need to force anyone. People will do it willingly.

In a few years they'll place "increased freedoms" in the social credit store for purchase alongside tokens gained from commendable activities such as state approved and endorsed births.
The Chinese will fully gamify the structure of their society for the average citizen and lower party members, and they'll do it to thunderous applause.
China is already past the point of return for demographic replacement. They physically can't correct the demographics before a collapse. They know this and they're doing everything possible now to mitigate the collapse.
