There is zero sex/naked/kissing/whatever scene in the first book, but of course they will have to change that.
(There has to be a serious problem in America, if they put sex into everything.)
('intimacy coordinator' - Before filming, actors have to sign contracts, so they know exactly what they are doing. They can feel disgust against the other actor, it doesn't matter.)
Intimacy co-ordinator. Another fucking job created by women causing trouble that gives another one of them a salary.
Can we just go back to when all female characters were played by men and women were shut out of the creative arts entirely? They haven't produced anything worth shit in their entire time of being allowed in.
Yep. I would say intimacy coordinators are as useless as diversity and inclusion managers.
That's the idea. Women cause an issue, then position themselves as the solution to it.
Doubled their power by literally threatening everyone.
Eldritch levels of based.
I can't even handle it myself.
Women were shut out of the creative arts because they were considered too good for it. All of the women were played by young men and boys in in the Renaissance because it was socially unacceptable for women to debase themselves in fron of an audience like that.
I'm not actually opposed to this solution.
There is, the leftist nuts are obsessed with it. Trannies, LGB alphabetters, abortion, sex-ed to little kids, etc. Just look how much of what comes out of lefty land that is related to sex in some way.
Yea in the books any intimacy isn’t described in detail and usually covered in a sentence or two. Left to the imagination of the reader. Honestly if I was in charge I’d fire the moron showrunner. He has shown he doesn’t care about adapting the series and cares more about representation and making it a “feminist” story. Funny since the book already had female characters and other races from different parts of the world.
So they are going to use the HBO formula?
Lets be honest no one that is a fan of the books and payed any attention to the recent remake/ remaster/ reimagine trend has any hope for the series.
I was thinking the same thing. Because of the success of Game of Thrones (and to a lesser extent the popularity of the Witcher series), all the hack writers are going to take the wrong lessons so every new "mature" fantasy series will have sex and/or nudity, and attempts at gritty, subversive violence.
Hey man, Rand dances with Egwene. That's lewd by Amish standards
All that constant braid tugging by Nynaeve probably looks pretty suggestive on camera too.
Don't forget the skirt smoothing
There are plenty of novel to TV adaptions that don't have adult content in them that do well. Why the fuck do they feel the need to add sex to everything? I like fictional adult content but there is a bigger market for the non-adult fictional content. The only reason I can see the need to this is that they know they have a shit script and need adult content to boost the potential viewership.
Game of droning on far too long comes to mind.
nb4 some lady who signed the intimacy contract decides to #MeToo anyway
And without any evidence the male is fired from whatever he's doing at the time and completely blacklisted from his career.
Only if he's white.
Just wait a few years! :)
I had not thought of that...
Yep, don't forget either the gay or lesbian couple making out for absolutely no reason.
Politically approved intimacy.
Aren’t the main characters like 14-16 in the first book?
18 and 20.
Wow. That completely shatters my mental picture of the first book. Also love the diversity in casting for a village so small and remote even the people in the closest towns seem to have never heard of the place.
'Wow. That completely shatters my mental picture of the first book.'
And they call themselves fans... I bet that no one of the production company read the books at all.
'Also love the diversity in casting'
When I posted many quotes from the books that the main cast is white (and Jordan's cast was white too), every forum (except this one) deleted them, I got banned, because I'm racist and toxic...
Yeah I thought they were written like children because they were children. Especially considering how much faster one had to mature pre modern era. I know it’s fantasy but I figured the medieval fantasy setting would also keep the on average short life span and move out of your parents house as soon as possible.
I fast forwarded the first episode, so I watched it in a few minutes, then quit. But its sexuality began a new trend: putting more and more sex into everything. I do not watch tv series at all, but my family does a lot, and many times even they think they are watching porn not a tv drama.
I did not watch the trailer, and I will not watch even one second from the tv series.
