One thing they say they are surprised by is how men seem pretty much the same as when they were women. They don't treat them differently and still have a camaraderie with them. Many thought that they would have acted significantly different when women weren't around, or that all they would talk about would be women. They came to learn that men are much more caring than they thought and enjoy talking about a broad spectrum of things.
What makes it sad is that much of their decision was likely made because of feminist propaganda; same as much of those preconceived ideas they had about men as well. The silly belief that men get a free ride and that everything just sort of works out for them is something that feminist have used for a long time.
I honestly feel sympathy because in those posts, they weren't telling happy stories. As a man looking in, it's easy to be cynical and take a "told you so" attitude, but most of those types of posts where they're explaining about how they learned these things are borderline suicidal because they feel lost and don't know how to handle what's actually become a very real problem for so many young men as well these days.
The big difference being that for men it's just how it's always been; they don't know a different life. While for these FtM's, they don't know how to handle rejection, or the anxiety of having to measure each move in a social situation. They're not used to being the one expected to do certain things, and when all of these things and more come together, they break down in tears unable to figure out a solution.
Like I said, it's honestly pretty sad.
