Women have everything in their favor: quotas, diversity hires, lower quality standards, special programs for woman only... So a women that doesn't have a family and children, has every time in the world to climb this rigged system.
I think one of the arguments they had was that childbearing and raising children makes women fall behind in their careers. This makes sense and a lot of men went with it, those of us with wives are very sympathetic to the sacrifices our wives make for the good of the family.
So what happens when women no longer have kids? Well they still enjoy the same preferable treatment without any career break.
