“Three strike laws are racist! Stopping illegal immigration is racist! Holding minorities to the same standards as us are racist!” The fact that people like this are considered prominent is exactly why there is no viable peaceful resolution in our country.
It boggles my mind how they don’t see the massive damage created by teaching a group of people to play the victim or to always attribute any failure to racism.

The biggest failure of reconstruction was not being properly able to implement self sustenance into newly freed blacks who were used to having their lives controlled. They offered the easy and “secure” route instead of the ability to take risks for ones own gain.
It’s interesting that Booker T Washington is seen as a “sellout” by black liberals today. He was big about learning a skill and being the best you can. My great grandfather ran three small businesses in his lifetime despite minimal education and was a big proponent of education. He was a big fan of Washington. Today my great grandfather would be an Uncle Tom
Washington wanted racial acceptance through proving diligence and ability to the whites. Du Bois wanted to blame whiteness and capitalism for the woes of blacks, given the choice between hard labor and being a victim we see how humans often choose.

I’ve read DuBois and while he may have some good points (like talking about frivolous spending he had seen from blacks) he was part of the intellectual community so he had ideas that seemed great on paper. Plus he was always in the “upper crust”. Washington saw reality and knew the best opportunity for former slaves was learning a trade.
Always look at outcomes. Washington did more for the advancement of blacks than DuBois ever could have dreamed of. Tuskegee created the black men who bridged the gap for racial acceptance, the NAACP seeks to create more divisions.
The spending issue is wild. I have to track down the study, but it basically confirmed that most of the "wealth gap" among similarly salaried racial groups was almost 100% down to spending behavior. Black households, on average, spent way too much money on cars, televisions, and clothing.
Also you will find poverty rates similar across race lines when there is a mother and father in the home. Almost as if two parent homes are a way to avoid poverty.
It's not as if they would care if they could see it. Just imagine what a nightmare it would be if that community actually succeeded, and they could not longer pose as its savior.

So telling people that they control their destiny and dismantling the argument that racism is holding you down is just pandering to whites. Smh

If they can do none of the above, they say "so-called fact". Because even if you show that it is an actual fact, they can say: "hey, I never said that it wudn't!"
