This was the Point of No Return for America

Context:
In the 1990's, Disney was planning to build a theme park in Virginia themed specifically around Walt Disney's reflections on American history. It was going to have segments on life in colonial America, the Civil War, the frontier, the industrial revolution, the World Wars, and a state fair.
It was cancelled due to leftist outrage (and the failure of Disney Paris, which left the company short on money).
I've thought for a while that, had that park been built, it might have signaled a reverse back towards a new sense of civic pride. But the leftists wouldn't even allow that much to exist.
Civic pride would stand in the way of erasing our history. Instead we have to believe the Nobel savage myth mixed with religious guilt. They don’t want pride in a culture they want to erase. Traditions must die, veneration of our ancestors must die, everything pertaining to the achievements of western society must die.
More reason to consider the SJW woke ideology as a cult. It has so much in common. It is the embodiment of the worst features of Christianity without the good parts.
All the more essential that we preserve it!
TNT MAYHEM
Honestly people are better off just going to historical sights, even with the propaganda you'll undoubtedly get from them being run by the National Parks Service. We are a young country, and many of our historical artifacts actually still exist in some form.
One of my moments of awakening as it were was visiting a battlefield for the War for Independence and discovering through the records they had on-site that one of my ancestors fought in that battle. Suddenly I had a connection to this place which made visiting it much more meaningful than it otherwise would have been. I wasn't expecting that to matter, but it did.
I remember this when I was a kid. My major opposition to it was that it would have destroyed a portion of the Mananas Battlefield.
Yes, I was that kind of kid.
The way I heard it, Colonial Williamsburg, King's Dominion, and Busch Gardens didn't want the competition and managed to keep Disney out.
That's the story I got growing up in VA around that time.
We shall not see Walt's like again. You can tell he was good because the left portrays him as an anti-semite despite literally zero evidence. The villain of the live action Dumbo was basically a leftists character of Walt Disney. Disney Corporation should be razed to the ground and the earth salted.
Wrong. They have fabricated slander from antisemetic communists which is better than facts.
Isn't it weird that "the left" is always calling people anti-semitic? Don't anyone dare suggest that the left is controlled by Jews, though.
Ever looked up all the classical music composers who were "anti-semitic"? It's not a short list.
It's a big point of pride to them that they took over Disney. I don't know anything about Walt, but they can't have their myth busted.
im pretty sure the point of no return was when the federal reserve was created in 1913
That and the Hart-Cellar act.
Also the Civil Rights Act, which annihilated the right of association.
I'd argue the Civil War/Reconstruction is when America stopped being a Republic and started being an empire. Prior to the Civil War, the states, at least broadly, were a country because they wanted to be. Now, yes, it is true that many states joined after that period, however they gave up sovereignty in doing so. It's a one way trip, right?
All our hopes and fears hung on Walt Disney? I'm not buying it. I see your point, and I wasn't aware of the plans for this.
