Its Denver, the amount of Cali immigrants flowing in yearly cannot actually be kept up with, double so with the illegals also piling in.
Especially because they only have so much space before they hit the mountains. Its a pretty narrow window of open plains between the border and the Rockies.
What you are seeing is the consequence of trying to have one of the biggest cities in the nation in a state with little land for it. Its about as dumb as building a different major city under sea level but we won't see people on tv saying that part.
I lived in Colorado for some years and most of the revenue from taxes is spent on building every town around appealing to tourists.
Every podunk valley town has hot springs and bike trails and camping and hiking as every cent invested in it, while the people that live there can barely get to work because RVs are clogging the roads and flipping over.
That's a major untalked about issue. How Colorado is decently wealthy based on its tourism but only because it also invests every cent back into it. The entire West of Denver exists just to be a giant themepark for taxes.
They want you reliant on their shitty systems. You don’t live in our overpriced city and commute? Want to drive a gas car to and from work? The city tax on commuters is insane enough, but you can’t ever satisfy a bottomless pit.
It's the same story repeating itself all over the world, even in my completely unremarkable central European town. Lefties centralize everything into the city, people have no choice but to commute, especially with skyrocketing housing prices in those cities and in any area that has good public transport (light rail etc.). That means people have no choice but to drive in every day, and the leftard solution to that is to make it as onerous and expensive as possible.
For example, my city started putting up "residential parking" zones, so that people who park on the streets pay a little bit if they're residents (was free previously of course) and insane amounts of money if they're non-residents and just work there. If your company doesn't provide parking, which almost none do, you're fucked. Commuters were told to leave their car at the outskirts and take public transport downtown. There are two problems with this, though: 1) There is ONE park&ride lot for the entire city, and it holds about 100 cars (tens of thousands commute by car from the surrounding area daily), and 2) public transport has been over capacity for over a decade.
A sane person would look at this and start supporting small towns, so that people could maybe live elsewhere and use local services instead, but that would take away money from endless social programs that do nothing but prop up a constantly expanding underclass of broken people dependent on handouts - and people who live in small towns aren't the kinds of degenerates who vote left, so fuck them. A sane person would also do something about the outrageous property prices and the fucking AirBNB epidemic, which displaces working people to outside the town and forces them to commute, the law has tools to handle this, but allowing people to afford their own place to live without depending on the government is antithetical to the left's philosophy, so fuck you, peasant.
Or you could build up the infrastructure to accommodate the population with all that tax money you milk from them.

Its like 4 hours of nothing east of Denver. More like they are building the entire mountain range front into a mega city corridor
Look, I won't defend Denver retards but I'd sooner build New Orleans 2 than be a Flatlander.
At least they'll have a mountain view.
The Flatlanders agree to this. Let Denver make itself implode Glitzily over there.
they should build into the mountains
They would dig too greedily, and too deep.
Based Balrog
Fair, but taxes there are still high from what I hear. How much of that revenue goes to mitigating the issue I wonder?
Most likely a small percentage

This is why we sold our condo in keystone.
Steal. All that tax money you steal from them.

and they can ban you from public transportation if you don't match the social credit system, like in China and France.
That, and they get to impose whatever policies they want. Even after everything's opened up, they keep the mask glued to your face.
