We have one of the two highest proportions of gingers in the world at 13% with Ireland being second at 12%.
Obvious anagram of ginger aside there already are non white immortals in the franchise even before touching on the TV shows because the whole thing was a global fight that just happened to use a Scot as the protagonist...
I do not think you get woke. Woke does not mean include diversity, it means including diversity were it should not, on purpose. They would get no points of having a black immortal that is from US or Africa or modern day France. They will have an ancient black scot female leader of a clan that lived the same period as McCloud, be better then him in every way . Also she is somehow a doctor, lawyer, CEO and a computer genius.
I'm not serious, I have no idea what they will do but this is what I assume they will for the sake of being woke.
For bonus points they will have a trans immortal show up, have an incredibly cringe dialogue to point out in details how zey need pronouns or it may die.
1 to 3 to Series to Endgame do work sort of as a continuity but even then everything past 1 needed to retcon the Game as never having been won and with Lambert not interested in doing a tv show they had to come up with Duncan instead who takes Conner's place as the protagonist in Endgame.
It was one of those "WTF are you doing making a sequel where the original film had a definitive ending event?" and yet they did so anyway and in such a bad way given how off track 2 was.
What's weird is that despite 2 and 3 being horrible (although 2 is a pretty cool cyberpunk film if you watch it in a vacuum and not regarding it in the continuity of the rest of the Highlander franchise) the series is what really brought fans back into the fold.
I originally didn't like Adrian Paul only because he was replacing Christopher Lambert as a new character and protagonist. However, his actual swordsmanship and skills as a martial artist absolutely won me over. They used real swords, partook in some fairly decent fight choreography, and included some compelling storylines. Not saying the series was great, but it was decent for what it was and actually better (story wise) than Highlander 2, and better all the way around than Highlander 3.
Endgame is a bittersweet entry because at least there's some story cohesion, and there are a couple of fantastic fights thanks to the underrated talents of Donnie Yen, but it's also such a horrible film. A better writer would have made Donnie Yen the final boss, betraying Thomas Paine's character because he doesn't believe he possess the "honor" to be the best, leading to an awesome showdown between Paul and Yen in the end. But alas... it's Highlander.
Cast to play Superman. Only gets 3 movies despite being loved by the fans.
Hardcore Witcher fan to the point he was correcting the showrunners [not that it helped] and ended up playing the character he loved so much as well as having to actually stop himself going full off-topic nerd blogging during interviews for other movies/shows when the topic of the Witcher was brought up least he end up going on about how much he knew and loved the franchise.
Hardcore gamer who BTFO'd an interviewer with the now meme'd response of "PC" when asked if he was a console peasant preferred XBOX of PS.
Highlander 5: The Startovering has been in development hell since around 2005. The franchise has been a consistent moneymaker no matter how badly they bungle the individual entries, so it makes perfect sense to me. The fact that they've tried to be careful / were accidentally held back from making whatever turd made sense at the moment this time, is probably in the positive column of things happening with this one.
How many black scots are there going to be? I've heard that the scots have always been black.
It's true. As black as the Irish.
Demoman was supposed to be a joke!
His type is also supposed to be incredibly rare.
"I'm a black, Scottish cyclops. They got more [BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP] than they got the likes of me."
I swear I’m so sick of the “it has always been.....” headline.
Have we fuck.

Played by a Frenchman...
Mentored by an Egyptian Spaniard...
Played by THE Scot, Sean Connery.

There can be only one... good Highlander movie.
Highlander has been dead to me ever since "Planet Zeist" which was only the second movie.
I did enjoy re-watching the original recently.

The expansion of the lore to "Immortalize" the Four Horsemen was a nice touch.
Rumored to star Henry Cavil with the same director as John Wick. Might not suck.
John Wick 3 begs to differ.
Jesus fuck the man can't catch a break.
