I'm just curious how everyone handles this. After all, you aren't going to watch woke bullshit and fund their war machine, so what do you say to this?

Pretty much, I know a few 4chan trolls who bought TLOU2 “for the lolz”. I don’t really understand that mindset, I’ve only got enough time in my life nowadays for things I enjoy.
I just say I don’t give money to people who hate me, or things that don’t make me happy/grow as a person. Then I move on. You can only control your own actions at the end of the day
Who the fuck are you and why should I care what you think?
If it is among friends, that are overwhelmingly on the left, I am honest and say I do not watch anything with race/ gender swapping or with a lot of men are evil. So far my friends actually agree that the race/ gender swapping has gone to far.
Not enough to change their political opinion though, Trump is still Hitler. We no longer talk politics after I asked a couple of them to prove to me Trump is racist.
Well, they're claiming that I'm not worthy to criticize something, so they need to convince me of that. If they can convince me that I really don't have the right to my own opinions, then they successfully turned me into a non-human.
It also boils down to an appeal to authority, which is rarely a respectable argument.
Generously, their argument could be coming from an assumption that your criticism is meant to convince them, but this embarrasingly reverts to my prior point.
i don't need to eat a piece of shit to know it tastes bad
We really do judge a book by its cover.
"Cook book", "Dictionary", "Atlas of Quebec And Labrador".
People who say not to judge a book on its cover literally don't know what "books" are.
I ask what the point of the trailer or preview I'm viewing is if not to pass judgement.
Replace their propaganda game with some fat-tittied booty-clappin' anime fap festival and repeat their argument back at them.
Although I like u/acp_k2win 's answer best and it will now replace this.
I would say replacing that answer with u/acp_k2win’s is a good idea. Social justice crazies already want to burn everything, so telling them about media that isn’t their propaganda is just giving them another book to target and add to the pyre.
"I hate to reveal it to you this way, but I'm actually psychic. I can see limited glances into the future. Not all paths are set, of course, a butterfly can flap its wings and a hurricane emerges down the line, but it's remarkably accurate for the most part. And it says the game's gonna be shit. It will get semi-reasonable reviews from paid critics, but people who actually pay to play the game, as opposed to those are are paid to play it, will find it quite lackluster."
And then I'm right.
How does a publisher choose what game to make or movie to film, if they can't judge a work by anything except experiencing the completed work first hand? Do they have to spend $50 million before they find out "my frst day at schoool" will be a terrible movie, or can they just read the script?
"There's a reason I'm not playing it in the first place"
try jumping from the third floor. you cannot know if hurt or not. if you don't experience directly.
If they have seen it or played it and believe that the additional context of doing so contradicts your claim, why do they not address that instead of just trying to cast doubt? Because they have no argument than to try to distract.
