Haha, damn. When’s the last time a major game was so broken that it was unreleased; FF14? This is Sony stating this is more broken than any Bethesda game including fallout 76.
FFXIV 1.0, thankfully, never hit consoles. Only when they had a real product with real quality in A Realm Reborn, did they finally make a console version, and they had to scrap 90% of the world to make it.
Yeah it crashes on Ps4 at least once an hour for me.
Pressing pause or using an action button (Like triangle for selling at a drop box or square for buying from a merchant) does nothing the first time i do it, so i have to do it again,
Pausing or character menus: maybe half the time I pause/open character menu, it doesn’t load correctly. Things are missing.
Game freezes every time I want to change or turn off radio.
Car camera locks itself into first person and won’t respond to attempts to exit.
And that’s all I can think of instantly. There are more issues lol
This is extremely embarassing. No game should be almost unplayable at launch, especially if it took over a decade to make. The positive reviews are ridiculous. Metal Gear Solid V was horrible, incomplete, buggy as hell and got 10s, but at least it wasn't removed from the store with full refunds.
There's no real gaming journalism. Everybody gets paid directly or indirectly to write positive reviews.
They made nearly a billion dollars on release day. Two thirds of their pre-orders were on pc. They are not going bankrupt you delusional wreck of a man.
Hi CDPR Public Relations. Don't forget to clear out your desk on the way out.
The game runs like shit on everything because it's diversity hire coding. Just like the diversity hire story, the diversity hire marketing and the diversity hire PR push that sockpuppets like you are leading.
When was the last time something like this happened on any platform? Exactly how bad is it on Playstation that Sony is willing to do this? Fallout 76 was lover-run with bugs on launch, and they still didn't do this.
I was on the ride for that one. Basically Valve just lifted their maximum time played part of the policy and WB Studios didn't put up a fight. It always ran fine on consoles though, this is very much the opposite plus anyone with a rig that isn't running way above the listed requirements. It's a more complete, gratifying shit show.
I'm pretty sure it was Warner Bros, not Valve, that pulled Arkham Knight. Valve seemed perfectly content to give refunds to anyone and everyone who qualified.
Can't even decide how I feel anymore. On the one hand, the left is hating on the game for not being progressive enough, which makes me sympathize. On the other hand, CDPR tried their hands at pandering to those same very people, which makes me cheer for the flames.
Meh, either way, the more controversy the faster the eventual GOTY will be 75% off, at which point I might give it a try, as long as there's a mod to blow up the journos :D
I don't know where you've been but from the day of release people here were screaming "0/10 WORST GAME EVER BROKEN UNPLAYABLE LUL I FUCKING KNEW IT!!!!!!" despite having been screaming it was going to be the return of Jesus for over a year prior.
The only commentary on the story content of the game I'll give is I played it about 3.5hrs the first couple days and that's it. Not because it didn't work but because it didn't get my attention enough at the time. I do tend to get the idea that it will lean SJW heavy, albeit perhaps not as egregiously as an Outer Worlds for example.
That said, this is not about that, it's about the console performance. I'm generally a console gamer myself, but I also have reasonable expectations. That is way out of line with most of them that expect their 7 year old hardware to do everything as well as a new PC. They will then show like a still shot of Red Dead 2 or something with nothing going on as "see look how pretty my PS4 is".
This game was set up to be a loser though. Walking through what bit of the game world I've done there's a lot going on. Every little moving billboard, flashing light, walking person, that all requires processing resources to make it work. They put themselves in a bind where their ambition was at the level of a Crysis, where nothing would play it well at launch but had to pare things back to make it still not work well on old hardware. Throw in some bugs to piss off everyone who isn't on old tech and you've got the situation they are in.
Then you get the piss-poor management at CDPR. Yeah I blame whoever was managing these projects. At some point you have to have someone tell your teams to cut shit out and make it into a typical games wax museum style world and instead work on enemy AI and make the game fun. Or make it run well but very obviously cut features on old consoles and deal with that backlash. Or decide that it's going to release on PC first, focus on next gen consoles, only, etc. or any other plethora of decisions. Just pick something that results in a polished product on release whenever that release is. Instead they just let everyone run wild and then get to a point where they have to release something or they are going to all get the ax.
Maybe that's just me ranting from my own experience in the big corporation world. I find a lot more of the woke stupidity in the middle and upper management where they are installed in positions they aren't qualified to do. Granted I work in a technical field and not with a bunch of artsy people though.
So, I've been a little out of the loop regarding Cyberpunk 2077. What about the game is so bad that it warrants this kind of reaction? Is it really more broken than Fallout 76?
bugs are just shifting the focus from the real problem. they forgot to put the game into the game. from the non-existant ai to the lack of rpg-elements.
the list of cut content is longer than todays add-riddeled youth could even read in one sitting :P
it's just a movie, might aswell just watch the story on youtube. (which would explain y game-journos gave it a 10/10)
I wish more games would go back to the good old linear, story-driven FPS format.
I'm tired of all these open-world games with copy-pasted, tiny set pieces just so they can claim to be non-linear, have the biggest map or the most gameplay hours. Drive around for 10 minutes to do some event for 5 minutes. Repeat 100 times to win. All hail the sand box!
I wish more games would go back to the good old linear, story-driven FPS format.
So do I, but that's pretty much suicide. “Linear” has been a dirty word for over a decade now. Not everyone has the time or desire to put 150+ hours in to every game, but that’s what the the loudest voices say they want, so we get it.
I'm with you there. I'm sick of open worlds for the most part. It's not the fact that the world is laid out like that, but that to me it just means that the game is filled with a bunch of un-fun filler content. I also have no problem with playing someone else's story and characters that they wrote and is presented to me without trying to hide it into some conversation text and a character appearance creator as if I got a choice.
Probably my favorite example of open world done right? Yakuza series. Want to screw around in an open world with minigames and side quests that are very simple and repetitive (but at least sometimes make me laugh)? Great, you can do that. Want to ignore that for now (or forever) and advance the totally linear story? Go to the really obvious pink dot on the map that isn't all that far away and continue the story.
well, then you're in luck. as there is no ai i would categorize it as buggy rail-shooter.
the sad thing is, the sidemissions are actually good. but the getting to them is fucking horrendous. you can't do anything creative, create your own fun etc.
It'll probably be playable in 6-12 months. Par for the course for modern games
That along with several other things is why I haven't bothered getting it yet.
New games are fucking massive these days. I still remember when BladeRunner came out for PC in the 90s and it being a "big thing" it was a whole gig in size! Of course there will be bugs in general now when you upscale the sheer volume of data in play. Day 1 patches are always a thing now but for something as over-hyped as CP2077 it seems to have been pushed out far sooner than it should have been.
Witcher 3, the game CDPR are known best for, that launched on PC, was a buggy mess to put it lightly. Armour side quests flat out couldn't be done and were later "patched" by simply given an option to kill a golem and get the armour piece in question. There's even a note near Kaer Morhen from "CDPR" apologising for all the bugs the game had originally.
That launching on PC thing. Witcher 3 has since been released on the Switch. It would be insulting to potatoes to call it potato quality it's that much of a downgrade. But then, what the fuck did they expect going from actual PCs to the Switch?! Now CP2077 launches on console so doesn't even have the safety net of years of fixes to offset the drop in quality.
CDPR deciding to piss away goodwill with both the changing dev team and attempts to go woke. Even the Witcher 3 got flak because a game made by Poles, inspired by a book series written by a Pole, that heavily draws on Polish and Slav folklore is mostly... filled with people that look like Poles!
I'll see how everything unfolds drama wise as well as DLC wise given CDPR's track record there hasn't been as shit as others, but I'm in no way using my enjoyment of the Witcher games [and I do mean all 3 of the core ones as many 'Witcher [3] fans' seem to be W3 exclusive normies] as a reason to feel compelled to consoom their next product.
It's not. People around here are jumping on the hate wagon because there are women and minorities in the game. Unlike pol, the hatred is unironic.
The regular gaymerz are pissed because the game is buggy as hell right now, though the bugs are more amusing than game breaking. I played for over 100 hours since launch and had only one CTD in that time.
Poor gamers are pissed because their potato pcs can't run it at a fluid144fps on ultra/psycho settings at 4k resolution with all raytracing enabled. Someone on the steam boards bitched that their 1060 and ryzen 1700 wasn't enough and that meant the game was poorly optimized. I shit you not.
The game is next gen and that means it requires a beefy pc to run smoothly at max settings. Aside from the typical launch day problems though, the game is excellent. The writing is great, side quests are fun, combat is good, and the progression system is pretty much a 1 to 1 copy of the tabletop game. If I had to compare it to anything, I'd say cyberpunk married the slick presentation of a modern AAA game with the reactivity of Deus Ex. The first one.
TLDR - a lot of people are whining about shit that'll get fixed. The game works and it's nowhere near broken.
Genuine question, have you made a comment here that isn't shilling for CDPR?
The game is garbage. It's more broken than Forza Motorsport 7 and that barely worked at launch. It was made for Series X, which it doesn't work on, because the code is atrocious.
Crappy GTA clone with woke politics and an edgy setting. Only good thing about it is the Quadra and that got added to FH4 (ironically, with better handling than in 2077) making the whole game worthless.
Hey I'm not a shill and I'll say its not more broken than Forza. On PC, console is and that's inexcusable. But its literally no more buggy than a standard Bethesda game, and people taught the industry that was okay by buying Skyrim 4 times despite being a broken mess.
There are many valid criticisms of the game. Its for sure no more than an 8/10 once all bugs are fixed (assuming future patches) on its best day and probably a solid 6 or 7 otherwise.
But the meme of how bad it is has far and away eclipsed reality.
Original, next gen, switch version, ultimate edition or whatever the fuck it was called?
I haven't wasted money on this crap because I saw the dumpster fire coming from a mile away - unlike FM7 which I pre-ordered and crashed about 20 times in the first day, even after Day 1 patching. Still love it though. Their problem was that they made it for Xbox One X and barely anyone had one.
According to my stats, I've played 412 hours of it since it came out.
The only people I know who pre-ordered 2077 were people I used to be close to and cut off over politics, so I have no first hand information. I'm only going off what I've heard here and the reaction from retailers, who basically issued recalls of it.
I don't think CDPR will ever recover from this and honestly...that's not a bad thing.
Well. I bought Skyrim on PS3, which was broken worse than any of the worst parts of Cyberpunk by a long shot and got abandoned in that broken state.
Yet people still buy Bethesda games and their rep is more of a funny joke than serious criticism. Despite their games actually needing mods to be fixed. Even with Fallout 76 and ALL of the things that they did with that game, people are still going to buy Elder Scrolls 6 without a single doubt in their minds.
I didn't buy the game, but my roommate did because he is a slut for these games (bought Outer Worlds full price too) so I've actually played it out of boredom. Its nowhere near as bad as anyone is saying on PC (again, the console version is inexcusably bad). Its Fallout 3/NV in the future instead of the desert, with the same amount of bugs and iffy RPG elements.
I've never really liked CDPR, I thought Witcher 3 was awful. I don't even really like this game, its a "good enough to kill time" tier. I just don't like misinformation and bandwagons.
My life isn't a failure and they're trash who only care about themselves, who have ruined countless lives in their quest for superiority.
But hey, the people pushing to transition 5 year olds are probably good in your book, as you like this shitty game.
Funny though, I would have thought the Polish would be against feminism, after they tried to overthrow an elected government because "muh baby murder/gender eugenics".
Haha, damn. When’s the last time a major game was so broken that it was unreleased; FF14? This is Sony stating this is more broken than any Bethesda game including fallout 76.
It’s Sony backpedaling hard after refusing cyberpunk refunds to begin with.
FFXIV 1.0, thankfully, never hit consoles. Only when they had a real product with real quality in A Realm Reborn, did they finally make a console version, and they had to scrap 90% of the world to make it.

Them getting bought by gamespot was when it all started falling apart.
Almost makes me feel bad for the propagandists.
Bye CDPR, you're going bankrupt for this one.
I did say almost.
They made nearly a billion dollars on release day. Two thirds of their pre-orders were on pc. They are not going bankrupt you delusional wreck of a man.

Good luck selling anything else in the future, Pollacks
I'm sure the many fans that they get from shitting out games that are not only woke, but also hideously broken, will keep them alive.
At least until they get bought by EA/ATVI/Epic/MS.
You have no idea how stuff works...got you, thanks for pointing that out, nice to know who to pay any attention to at all.
One third is still significant...if all those people ask for a refund that's 300,000,000 isn't it?
When was the last time something like this happened on any platform? Exactly how bad is it on Playstation that Sony is willing to do this? Fallout 76 was lover-run with bugs on launch, and they still didn't do this.

To be honest, it's a miracle it even launches on original PS4. Granted, if it worked better on PS4, it would outright fly on any decent PC.
Can't even decide how I feel anymore. On the one hand, the left is hating on the game for not being progressive enough, which makes me sympathize. On the other hand, CDPR tried their hands at pandering to those same very people, which makes me cheer for the flames.

kek. peasants.
lol and people here were pretending it was all just the trannies being mad about the game that was tailor made for trannies
I don't know where you've been but from the day of release people here were screaming "0/10 WORST GAME EVER BROKEN UNPLAYABLE LUL I FUCKING KNEW IT!!!!!!" despite having been screaming it was going to be the return of Jesus for over a year prior.
browsed through kia2 on reditted yesterday, the amount of shilling for this absolute shitfest was amazing.
glad we left those faggots behind at least...

Doesn't help some of the best loved linear, story-driven shooter games [not specifically FPS's mind] ended with ME3.
