"What would you consider appropriate levels of hostile attention?"

I like how in that movie Gibson's militia fight the war in the way that gives them the best chance to win instead of the way their enemies consider "honorable" or "fair".

There's a lesson in there somewhere...

That everything goes and that the ends justify the means?

Well, that's how things worked after Greene replaced Gates.

Greene basically fought to deny the Carolinas to Cornwallis, in a long series of indecisive battles where the Continentals would strike and then withdraw once the British regrouped and started hitting back.

Internal Passports are a sign of extremem authoritarianism and the reason why one of the natural rights of the enlightenment is the freedom of movement.

The alternative is the US, where non-citizens, out of staters, pets and dead people vote for Democrats because nobody has any record who's actually eligible to vote, or even exists.

I'm not sure if you're misreading this or not ... he's talking about the "Papiere, bitte" style of ID card that's used by Police to check on people walking down the street.

Don't they already do that if you end up in a traffic stop for example? Except it becomes a hassle for you if you don't have an official ID.

We have a national passport in Germany and you don't randomly get checked by police. In fact you don't even have to have your passport on you. You just have to have one, e.g. at home.

Passports certainly have downsides but given the clusterfuck that is the US voting system they pale in comparison to compromising the whole country IMHO.

If you're in a traffic stop you'll generally have a driving license, and by law I think you have seven days to produce that.

If you're not driving there is no requirement for a British citizen to carry around ID with them. There didn't used to be, anyway.

There is a difference between a voter registery tied to a registered postbox which is shared between states and a Passport.

Funny that. I already have my freedom pass. Its firmly found between my index and ring fingers.

It is the Prime Minister’s hope and belief that progress in mass testing can – if everyone continues to pull together – provide a way to suppress the virus and relax restrictions until a vaccine becomes available,

So we've gone from managing the demand on the NHS to locking everybody up until we can "suppress" something that's about as contagious - and lethal - as the 'flu?

Fuck off, Boris.

Yeah, and then they'll move on from "suppressing" to "eradicating", which is impossible. Hello, endless restrictions!

I wish Boris would fight the globalists. He was supposed to be the British version of Trump, and he seemingly has failed at every step.

In retrospect, it was not at all likely that an Eton-educated elitist named Boris Alexander du Pfeffer Johnson would be a genuine man of the people.

But the illusion was nice while it lasted. Labour will probably win back the North, and the one chance the Conservatives had to base a coalition on patriotism and populism will be gone. Shame.

The new normal that the British government is set to outline will reportedly include “freedom passes” for those who have two negative coronavirus tests per week.

Can't go somewhere else to infect people if you're standing in line to get tested all week. That's just smart! /s

Boris is going as crazy with authoritarianism as Labour would.

You are not wrong

And now the latest news is, if brits clear covid testing ng five days after our granted 14 day lockdown break they'll lower restrictions.

"If you're good little children and beg and plead and do what we say, we may decide to let you out to play today!".

"oh really mummy and daddy!? Oh really! You're so kind.".

This is I bet their attempt to slow walk back, now they've got what they needed.

I would not be at all surprised if certain groups, be it men or "whites/Asians", disproportionately 'test positive'.
