If you have 6 figures of student debt with only education degrees, you're "idiot class"

Especially given how often teachers bitch about it being a low-paying profession.

Princess Diana worked as a housekeeper for £1/hr before marrying the Prince of Wales. That makes her the working class kween.

I paid off 7 years of college by doing "working class" (or worse, "illegal laborer" class) jobs constantly to try and save up tuition before the signup for the next semester came. If I failed, I couldn't sign up at all unless I signed up for loans to pay the outstanding balance and then immediately super increased my debt.

I understand dorm and living expenses taking enough chunk that you need loans paid after school completes, but there is absolutely no reason you can't have massive chunks saved up. Unless you are a madlad doing 21+ credits per semester or senior year in a difficult degree there is always time for a job.

Basically, my point is college students are lazy party idiots and deserve the crushing debt for fucking around for 4 years rather than planning ahead.

One, just because you’re in debt doesn’t mean you forgo all purchases until you pay off your loan. Two, $60,000 working truck elevates you out of Working Class? Really? Three, labourers and teachers can both be working class, but we both know the reason why you don’t want labourers to be classified as working class, do we scumbag?

Do they not realise most of those trucks are being paid for monthly over the course of several years?

Good lord, let's just dispense with the "working class" label and just brand them "racists that society will maybe tolerate if they get their way."

I mean, they invented the damn thing. They're just trying to re-define it in the public consciousness.

It's always meant the same thing: a politically useful, sufficiently wealthy, corporately monitored & controlled segment of the population.

Teachers make more than the median household income, and get 2-3 months of vacation a year. Imagine being able to pull in $70k and be able to travel for two months during the summer. And t hen still complain about how "bad" you have it.

My 6 foot manlet ass...

As someone in Western Europe, I'm always amused when 'Murricans think that 6'1" is 'tall'.

The average across Europe is 5'9-5'11, while the US is also 5'9. A difference in a few random countries, but let's not split hairs like its David and Goliath.

In a shocking bit of pedanticism though, Wikipedia itself categories the US by race and if we only include whites the US suddenly gets another half inch or more.

I specifically said Western (and Northern) Europe, because for example French men are so short that it's theorized that due to all the wars it has fought it bled the biggest and strongest men.

Really? In France the only very tall men you see are black. I guess it's Latin Americans and Asians who are less tall, right?

This is not my regular America-bashing. I'm just surprised that people who around here would be considered normal are considered tall.

Now I'm not European, but the only things more West than France in Europe are Iberian or Irish. If we aren't counting France as Western Europe then I have no idea what it even entails.

Shocked me too because most very tall men here are black as well. But they are 175.5 cm compared to US whites 177 cm. The Asians are down at 169.7 and Hispanics at 169.5 (they even specific out just Mexicans, even lower at 168.8). I switched to using Centimeter to better point out the very small differences, ftr.

So like a lot of things in the world, America's Diversity drags it down below European averages.

I'm just surprised that people who around here would be considered normal are considered tall.

I know, I'm just pointing back that by all data the difference is so minimal in actuality its almost meaningless. We have greater gaps between races in America than America vs European by raw numbers sake. There must be other factors at play for that difference in consideration beyond mathematical reality, because it is true that people do treat it much more rare here despite its normalcy.

This is older than online dating, but you are right that likely makes a difference.

Then again, women are horrible judges of measurements (its why they are bad drivers) so as long as you are noticeably taller than her you can just lie and say 6' and she will never know.

I work with women who are 5'2-5'4 on average. I flex on them to mock and belittle them (they assume playfully, it only sometimes is).

It comes up constantly as well with "hey we need a tall guy here" at least 3+ times a day and I'm the only one around.

From what I can gather, hookup apps and clubbing just don't look like good ways to meet people of the opposite sex. Especially if it's only for the sex and not actively looking for a meaningful relationship.

I don't mean anything personal by it. It's just that something popular and easy seems to me like it would attract the lowest common denominator. The odds wouldn't be in your favor. It makes me wonder if the kind of women you encounter in these rendezvous don't tint your lens, so to speak.
