Most popular women’s sport (and therefore sport by participation) in the country in fact. Same in NZ, and many other Commonwealth countries. Not sure where it sits in the UK, but it’s up there, too…
It was simply (no contact, no travel) women’s basketball, up until I think the 80s. Which is what it was originally intended as. Now it’s its own thing, in direct competition with actual women’s basketball for the same, let’s say, potential players (though netball is more popular).
There’s no men’s netball though. Only women’s and mixed.
Not everything…
The part about women over 30 (not 35. 30) vs cousins, and the resulting children, is not true.
But the rest of it is more like… A stopped clock, than anything else.
the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media (GDIGM)
Sorry but I can't get past the fact that the "GDIGM" is a thing that exists, let alone take it seriously, lol...
I knew she was "washed up", but that seems... An extreme path to take, to start your own (presumably) "institute" of that type/remit...
"Hateful", my arse.
Here's Seven News' take on the same "controversy": https://archive.is/VYsfn
And here's the Daily Mail's version of events: https://archive.is/BfHO8
And here you have the very woke Netball Australia/Suncorp Super Netball's tweet, linking to their bullshit statement about it: https://twitter.com/SuperNetball/status/1775010154490323410?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet
Not since Chris Gayle has a foreign black "sports star" playing in Aus been thrown under the bus so thoroughly and so quickly...
It's a cult.
Like that play in London that hosted "blacks-only" performances because white people "made them uncomfortable", lol...
That was a recent one.
If you're losing money anyway, might as well go all out on "the agenda", right..?
She lives on the German border, and is obviously an EU citizen…
It would be really easy to just disappear over the border, and start again under a new name…
Disappearing completely (i.e. so no one could ever track you down) would be a bit more difficult, with the whole European data sharing thing, and EU identity numbers, but nonetheless, way easier to do that, with some effort, than for a non-EU citizen/resident…
If she could be effed to do so, that is.
Good that you guys both shorten the crazy-long Māori names…
I know of at least a couple of (female) NZ expats who would be deeply offended if I even did that, lol…
They were obnoxiously “PC”, though.
What sort of music do ya play, btw, out of interest..?
So what was your point? That blacks aren’t more violent, or that rap culture makes them more violent/appear more violent, or that gangster culture doesn’t exist..?
I think a few of us are a bit confused…
Nah, that depends on the country/system…
In Aus you don’t, and in Sweden I don’t think you do either, so the Netherlands may be similar…
It entirely depends where you are.
Honestly, she might get turned on by that, at least initially… That’s the scary thing.
Imagine being her partner. Just imagine…
She has more than I’ve ever had, despite putting in even less effort. Fucking hell…
Yeah, this actually pisses me off. Especially how ridiculously attention-seeking she is about all of it.
A narcissist, even in (supposed) death.
I’ve met quite a few middle class Chinese…
Thinking for themselves… Is not a strong suit. Unfortunately…
I’m sure the CCP knows that, which is why they aren’t too worried.
Even with ones who have lived overseas for a time, it’s hard to find a single independent thought. Especially (unsurprisingly) among the women…
See also: The New Wicked movie/s.
Elphaba is almost as ugly as this one, which uhh, much like Juliet, traditionally, does not fit with the story…
How do they justify that?? That’s bizarre, to me, as an Auswegian, even having visited Cali and Colorado…
Sounds like the plot of West Side Story, to be honest…
But can you clarify your point..?
I think rap definitely contributes to the good culture, but it’s also a self-fulfilling prophecy, so…
Which part do you mean is propaganda..??
This is fiction, but still: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Once_Were_Warriors_(film)
While I hate to stereotype an entire culture as "violent", there's a reason that stereotype exists, in this case...
See also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boy_(2010_film) , which is how Taika Y-titty got famous in the first place...
There's definitely some dark undercurrents in Māori culture, if I may say so (sorry to the Kiwis in this thread)... Different ones to in Aboriginal culture (some are the same, some are not), but they are there, nonetheless...
Oh and also this, which... Brought some of that to light: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Grace_Millane
I must say I enjoyed the "mascot run" you guys had for the Warriors match yesterday (i.e. Easter), too. I don't even think we would be allowed to do that in Aus, anymore, and it was roundly mocked by Channel Nine for its "NZ weirdness", but I rather enjoyed it, lol...
One of the few ways you guys are freer than us (sometimes), it would seem!
Also oddly humourous, for a country which (no offence) sometimes seems to severely lack a sense of humour, lol...
Laughs in Sweden They don't jaywalk there... It was weirdly noticeable, while I was living there, but it is hugely frowned upon...
Not sure if our resident Swedes want to chime in on whether this is only a city thing, or if there's more to it, but from what I've read, I'm not the first foreigner to pick up on that, lol...
But I mean, it's not really terribly surprising, given their whole national "psyche" (following orders, conforming, etc.), tbh...
Of all the shitty "cultural" imports we've taken on from Yankee-land in the last two decades, I think "hood culture", gangsta rap, and the weird toxicity of race relations over there might be just about top of the list, along with "post-colonialism" and the toppling of statues/defacing of monuments more generally... Oh and maybe hatred of the flag. That too.
But fuck do I ever hate this "culture", and the "music" associated with it (sorry, rap fans), plus the fact that many "fans" refuse to listen to literally anything else, and take on so many of the negative traits associated with it...
Especially the wigga girls. I fucking hate that shit. And I've known more than a few, especially at Uni...
So yeah, while I'm not particularly fond of banning things, outright, the Easter Show is private property (I believe), and in this instance, they can do what they want.
If the degenerates want their fill of Abo-bikie-gang trash, they can go get it elsewhere, s'far as I'm concerned.
It also means you can’t really avoid it, though, I think that’s more the point.
You can avoid looking up at flags. And they’re not so ubiquitous. Much harder with something like this, or on the side of buses, for example (as it is in Melbourne), IMHO…
That’s not the case in Australia, at least, unfortunately…
I know of at least two of these, one at a major intersection in Sydney, and one on my own damn Uni campus. Both completely legal, and “normalized”…
So I guess that doesn’t carry here.
Side note: this is about demoralization and normalization. That’s all this is.
Showing how they’ve “won”, and “You’d better agree with and like it, or else.”
So I disagree that this is “ineffective” or “unimportant”. I think taking a stand, as these guys did, is important, because it shows that we ain’t gonna just stand shit, and at least someone is willing to stand up, and take some sort of action…
Who knows what else it might inspire others to do, after all.
Canadian (? - I think) Jewish “influencer” who goes on Fox News sometimes to spout mainstream “pro life” talking points, and is also a Babylon Bee contributor, which probably tells you all you really need to know…
Can someone ELI5..?
I read all three tweets, and I know about the Christ is King, thing, but… I still don’t get this specific instance.
Anyone care to explain?
This is happening with the Syrian/Turkish migrants in Sweden, including second-generation Christians - as in, they were born there, but they still get roped in.
Most of the ones doing the killing are young teenagers.
Same with the Abo gangs in parts of Australia, and the Maori/Polynesian gangs in NZ (which then get imported to Aus, and get into turf wars with the Abos).
It’s a recurring problem, evidently…
See above.
This is a fully professional league.
Think… The WNBA, but (relatively) much more popular, much less black, and with substantially fewer lesbians…
But yeah, it’s essentially women’s basketball with no contact, no travel rule, and fixed positions on the court.
If you’re a Centre, say, then you have to stay in the middle third of the court.
It’s immensely popular in Commonwealth countries. Most popular team participation sport by far.
