The media and SJWs generally will continue to write crap like this until the subjects of such stories find the balls to say, “so fucking what?” If the SJW Army writes a weepy follow up to that comment, say “I still don’t care what you think.” Repeat until you win by attrition.
When Black Americans unchained themselves from the bonds of race-based slavery,
I love this. As we all know, the Civil War was fought primarily between one army of white people wearing gray and one army of black people wearing blue. The white men of the North didn’t give a shit and stayed home. But I suppose if you really believe that the quoted statement is true then there’s nothing you WON’T believe, to include other assertions in the article like it’s the fault of WhItE sUpReMaCy that referenda seeking to replace police forces with brigades of race-conscious mental health counselors don’t pass anywhere, to include the highly diverse urban areas where such things tend to get on the ballot.
I will say, though, that I extra appreciate any person who doesn’t support something that would benefit them. 23 percent of the black respondents in that poll, for example. In the same way I tend to doubt any explanation someone gives for supporting a special privilege or gift when they would necessarily get the benefit, I’d give extra weight to any anti-reparations argument made by a black person.
If I had to guess, it’s probably the same reason anyone sexualizes anyone: they want to have sex with them.
Ah, those heady months immediately following the martyrdom of St. Floyd, when there was literally nothing you couldn’t write that would not be published, praised, and accepted by the NPC masses as long as you couched it in oppressor-privileged dynamics. There was nothing you couldn’t get canceled, to include syrup mascots; nothing you couldn’t get corporations to do to bend the knee to the “social justice” movement, no matter how absurd or out of proportion to reality; no amount of “doing the work” you couldn’t get “privileged” people and groups to do, no matter how absurd or out of proportion to reality. I remember this article and it had it all: absurdity, oppressor-privileged dynamic, a major corporate newspaper lacking the guts to send said absurdity back to the drawing board (they probably thought their paper should “do the work!”), complete lack of proportionality (what did she expect, all architecture to be torn down and replaced with buildings more reminiscent of pussies, somehow)… this article is post-Floyd 2020 in miniature.
We’re obviously still experiencing stuff like this to some extent, but there was literally nothing else going on for about six months after Floyd croaked. And at least some individuals are starting to develop the guts to stand up to the absurdity in 2023. In 2020 there was almost no resistance. So that’s a small positive, at least!
we romantically unpacked our traumas as he walked me home.
Posters in their 20s… is that what ALL dating is like nowadays or is it just the SJWs?
Do they… REALLY need to have the difference between “I tolerate X” or even “I’m totally cool with it if you’re into X or do X” and “I’m into X myself”?
“…you’re sort of telling on yourself already—is you don’t believe these people are women”
Is it really “telling on yourself” if it’s a statement of what we openly and explicitly believe? I feel like this is common among SJWs: if they have accepted some nonsense for political (rather than rational or scientific) reasons, then everyone must totally agree and would only contradict it from sheer blind bigotry. It couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ve thought long and hard about it and I don’t think trans women are women.
Edit: It’s also very easy for her to say this when she’s of the outgoing generation (as to pro sports I mean) and can safely leave her younger teammates and fellow-players to deal with any influx of trans women. She’ll be able to sit comfortably on the sidelines, woofing it up about how men should be allowed to take spots from younger women players since it won’t directly affect her. I know for now TRAs can make the excuse that there aren’t that many such examples, but what happens if we spend the next 20 years or more happily transing kids/teens and then they grow up? And what about the fact that the numbers of trans-identifying adults are growing by the year? Does she think none of them will end up in women’s soccer? It beggars belief.
Floridians: “Oh no, stop, come back 🙄”
I agree fully, and unfortunately that’s just a systemic problem, no matter who is on the Supreme Court - the other “side” will always get creative with its local laws wherever it has power and the laws will last a little while, at least, since SCOTUS can’t touch them until a case comes before it that lets it rule on the general type of law at least, if not the specific law itself. My best take on how to solve the problem in the existing system is for the federal Courts of Appeals to do their jobs better. But even then those courts have known biases, same as SCOTUS: so with our current conservative SCOTUS, a liberal state within a conservative Circuit Court’s territory would quickly see a knowingly BS law struck down, but a liberal state within a liberal Circuit Court’s territory will see the law upheld until the very last challenge at SCOTUS. I expect to see a lot of BS continuing to come out of the West Coast states, for example, since the 9th Circuit is just about Communist itself and will uphold whatever SJW nonsense those states pass until SCOTUS can finally toss the nonsense out.
Generally speaking, it’s been permissible for government agencies to enact policies that specifically address past racial discrimination by that same agency. I doubt this narrow band of permissibility will extend to half-baked CRT theories about general unfairness to minorities in the legal system. Quite apart from the standard woke stupidity of acting like actions toward people now make up for or assuage past advantages/disadvantages granted to people who happen to share a supposed characteristic with the modern person, it’s going to be very hard to prove that the broad judicial discretion as to penalties for persons convicted by juries of their peers has (1) been “abused” to an actionable extent or (2) ought to be limited in a discriminatory way. On (2), it’s one thing if the legislature duly rewrites a criminal statute to narrow or reduce the allowable penalty range for EVERYBODY, but it’s quite another to say “consider lowering it for only some people.” It won’t survive SCOTUS review, though a few lucky criminals may get reduced sentences until the challenge works its way up, if the policy is in fact implemented. (I’d say that even in Commiefornia, that’s not guaranteed to happen).
The lefties, including the cartoonist, thought that viral “You do not fit in here” cartoon was about the need for queer and minority “spaces” separate from the “majority” culture. Actually, unbeknownst even to the cartoonist, it was an accurate depiction of the leftward drift and eventual takeover of moderate and right wing forums and (sigh) “spaces,” and was particularly accurate in how annoyed the left is at the continued existence of any non-left institution anywhere.
Ah, riots are the language of the unheard again I see
I’m always amazed that people who are so cynical about their fellow humans that they think everyone even one step to the right of Lenin is a Nazi, can also be so blindly naive as to think trannies are winning competitions like this on the merits rather than being obviously allowed to win for political reasons. But then I have the same questions about the dual SJW beliefs that affirmative action is necessary but also you’re a bigot if you assume someone is only in your school/job/whatever because of affirmative action.
It’s actually wild how much the woke 1619 Project, pay for your historical sins lefties have in common with Islamists. 9/11 was chosen as the day of that attack because it matched the date of a historical defeat of Islam by a Western nation back in like the 1600s.
Correct, 1,000 times correct. Another example: They’ve just about successfully jumped off the word “woke,” which leftists were still using as a positive term applicable to themselves until about 2020 or 2021. I know I still heard a few (older) SJW types use it that way in ‘21. But now their programmed line is to claim only right-wingers use the word, and that it has no definition even though they used it explicitly and with a clear definition for ten years. It’s all word games, that’s all they have. Try to operate in the shadows as long as they can, and when detected, the way they get back in the shadows is by renaming whatever they are still doing.
Especially on that last point (being contacted by the local tribe), you have to be a complete idiot not to see that coming if you make a “give their land back hurr durr!” statement. Like, what does a WhItE aLlY expect the Natives to do, make an exception because “I’m one of the good ones”?!! The exact thing they accuse right-wing minorities of aiming for? Or is it just pure narcissistic thinking: “everyone ELSE should do this but I don’t have to”.
Seriously, I didn’t see a single boxing kangaroo in any of that footage, Macron
That’s a right you as an individual have: the government can’t treat you differently based on your membership in a group. That’s not the same thing that’s at issue here. This is Biden saying the government has a right to apply different standards of admission to a state school based on race, which is an issue of equal protection. it doesn’t implicate freedom of association in anyway.
Never mind anything else: what bit of the Constitution allows “racial preferences?” SCOTUS basically just told you they were not Constitutional
Imagine how popular Mara Jade would be if they got an attractive red head to play her.
I’m just picturing that scene from the Simpsons where Marge tries to order coffee in an Australian bar.
Fan: “I’d watch a show with an attractive redhead.“
Producer: “One fat black non-binary with a skin disease coming right up.”
Fan: “I said, an attractive redhead.”
Producer: “Right, a fat black non-binary with the skin disease.”
Fan: “R-E-D…”
Producer: “F-A-T…”
IF WE DISAGREE ON HUMAN I DON’T WANT RIGHTS TO BE FRIENDS
I don’t get the issue here. The character is a woman and the actress is a woman. Makes sense to me! Half-baked gender theories, whether by Crunchyroll about the character or by the actress about herself, don’t enter into it for me.
I don’t much mind who wins individual awards in team games, but what I also noticed, and which felt very insidious, was the level to which media talking heads tried to downplay the Nuggets’ championship, claiming their playoff opponents were easy - like it’s their fault the favorites in the East couldn’t make the Finals. I know they wouldn’t say that about a team led by LeBron instead of by a white guy. I notice a similar need to be ostentatious among football media figures whenever Lamar Jackson is discussed. The dude’s undoubtedly in the top-10 QBs right now, most probably in that 6-10 range, but they talk him up like he’s right there with Mahomes. There is a QB in Jackson’s own division who has been to the Super Bowl and won five playoff games in two years, while Jackson has a grand total of one career playoff victory, but because that other QB is white some (not all but a fair number) of commentators act like it’s debatable as to which of them is better. I should probably care less, but it’s irritating when the media abandons all sense in favor of socially-acceptable feels.
There is a massive persecution complex among lefties generally, but women especially love the “they tell us X” nonsense. I just graduated from a law school that is 60 percent women, and which like all of academia these days is in a constant race to the bottom to cater fully to every new and continuing SJW demand, and yet the minority girls from my 1L section still did a big viral photo shoot of themselves in suits, preening around in various parts of the school, that they posted all around social media with the tagline “we’re women of color, doing all the things they told us we couldn’t do.” And that was two whole years ago, long before we all actually graduated.
Bar exam is in two weeks though, hope they pass LOL, because the only prople that can actually “tell you you can’t” be a lawyer are the bar examiners!
