Essentially, they were claiming a lot of the "sleeker" mechs (like the Phoenix Hawk) were infringement on Robotech. Here is a list of the affected mechs and the various lawsuits (FASA being one of the parties too).

TheModernDaVinci 3 points ago +3 / -0

Doubly so because they were largely responsible for gimping MechWarrior early on, and trying to get rid of entire mech classes because "They look too much like our mechs! COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT!"

Honestly, I dont really care where the stuff I want to watch falls on any list. I will watch what I want to watch, and no one can stop me.

To that end, I recently finished up with SpyxFamily, and am about halfway through Eight-Six: 86. Finally getting around to Chainsaw Man is probably next on the list, and then either between My Dress-up Darling (started watching, didnt finish), Fire Force, or Beast Tamer.

The only possible ideas I have are “retarded” (which AFAIK is allowed here) or they think there is a slur hidden in the Latin (which is literally just Cato’s famous phrase modified to “And Furthermore, China must be destroyed.”)

TheModernDaVinci 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yeah, I recently finished it. He was basically like "I like it, and I find that to be very strange." It mostly came down to it seeming like whoever was in charge this season was an actual Trekkie who knew what they were doing. But was still down on Star Trek and basically viewed it as a last hurrah for now, unless something major changes and this becomes the norm.

To be fair, I have been hearing a lot of high praise of Picard 3. I was actually about to watch Nerdrotics review of it, which he had titled as "Hell froze over", so I am assuming its a good review. Still, I will admit that Star Wars was always my wheelhouse far more than Star Trek (didnt hate Trek, just didnt obsess over it like Wars).

17
TheModernDaVinci 17 points ago +17 / -0

yet all the previous Trek people hate Nu-Trek

Fans maybe. But the actors are all in on Nu-Trek from what I have seen. Or at least the biggest blowholes like George Takai and Patrick Stewart. At least to me, William Shatner seems to be the oddball out for disliking Nu-Trek.

Also worth mentioning (because its forgotten by many people talking about WW2 Soviet Union): They were a major recipient of Lend Lease. Over half of their locomotives and rolling stock, almost 3/4 of their trucks, most of their uniforms, and almost all of their aviation-grade fuel was made by the US. Zhukov is on record on multiple occasions saying that he could only do things like Deep Battle because his army was moving with American trucks. Hell, one of their most iconic weapons of the war was typically mounted on an American truck. Guess what Russia doesnt have anymore, and hasnt since 1945. And this is before we get to some of the heavier shit (like Soviet pilots preferring the American P-39/63, and loving the British Valentine and American Sherman tanks).

The simple fact of the matter is, A lot of people, on both sides of the old Iron Curtain, still base their view of Russia off of a combination of bad Soviet propaganda and misremembered facts. And considering that Russias latest attempt at a mobilization resulted in mass citizen flight and a failure to meet the mobilization goal, call me skeptical that Russia can do another "Throw bodies at the problem" solution to the war.

Seconded. Its also entirely possible people are looking up symptoms and gaining them through what is effectively a reverse placebo effect.

Dont get me wrong, its a chemical fire. But everything I have seen says it is nowhere near as dangerous as advertised. Dangerous yes, but the worst of it would be past by now except for some residual in the top soil.

But you dont get it. The Woke are so bad, we must side with the enemies of America in order to defeat them! I mean, sure....we're defeating them through normal means and returning America to its normal state. But it's not fast enough! And there are too many untermench still in it! /s

I swear to baby Jesus, this place is becoming so much more retarded by the day with some of the people around here. I saw some people start simping for China because "At least they're not Woke." As if the Chinese arent the ones SPREAD THE WOKE AGENDA TO WEAKEN OTHERS!

So I just stopped caring about them. Russia must burn, Slava Ukraini, and Et praeterea Sina delenda est! Glory forever to Columbia!

If you believe some of the business podcast I listen to, as well as people who still have contacts inside Hollywood if they dont work themselves (like Chris Gore), it has already started.

Despite what people want to be blackpilled about, ESG is not free money, and it is no shock that the companies sticking hardest to the Woke are still losing money hand over fist (instead of "They can ignore customers because ESG!"). And now, we have seen Top Gun:Maverick and Hogwarts Legacy make money hand over fist despite the Woke attempts to kill them, as well as all of the Woke stuff like Velma crash and burn. And it has finally gotten too obvious for even the most dense Boomer CEO to ignore. Or did you think it a coincidence that most of the cuts are happening in Marketing, which is the most woke part of most companies?

But we will still have to put up with the garbage for a good long while yet. When it comes to stuff like movies and TV, that is usually in the pipe a good 3-5 years before it is actually out. So a lot of what we are seeing is stuff from 2018-2020, at the height of peak TDS and Woke Power. But hey, at least until then, anime is still going strong, and video games are excellent (especially outside of AAA titles).

TheModernDaVinci 11 points ago +11 / -0

Certainly could be. I know it was also what was behind the whole "Someone is burning down food factories" thing that suddenly dropped out of the news again. Because let me tell you: As someone who lives in that part of the country, it happens all the time, and is usually not a big deal. I also didnt see anyone talking about grain elevator fires, even though those are far more frequent and are more likely to be deadly (unlike the plant fires).

Yeah. Legal Mindset pointed all of that out, and has been saying all of that would happen for months now.

But what would he know? Who is he? "One of only a few dozen lawyers in Florida who specializes in Special District laws"? Clearly he is just an ignoramus.

I am more interested in the goalpost shifting. First it was that it was going to be a take on Orange and Osceola Counties because Disney totally wouldnt be paying any taxes from Reedy Creek being redone. Now Disney is getting taxed and DeSantis is giving them tax cuts back? Well, which is it?

Unless, you know, this is more of what Andrew/Legal Mindset was talking about where anyone who knows what they are talking about knows Disney got pimpslapped, and is now calling up its favors from friendly media to try and spin it as some sort of win for them and lose for DeSantis.

He did lift the mandates. But from what I have seen, he is trying to justify it on the grounds that a court forced him to, not that he wanted to do it (though obviously, the Left doesnt make that distinction.

I am just laughing about all of the New Yorkers who voted for this guy thinking he would be a moderate compared to DeBlasio but never once considered another option because god forbid you vote Republican. So the only thing I can tell them is "You get what you fucking deserve!"

Except the Lakota apparently. 9/10 times, whenever you see "Indian tribe complains about [x]", its the Lakota.

Then again, from what I have seen, my local tribes actually take care of themselves. I have driven through the Kickapoo reservation, and forgot where I was until I saw the Casino. I drove through a Lakota reservation in S. Dakota, and I have seen better maintained scrap yards and trash dumps.

TheModernDaVinci 3 points ago +3 / -0

It's Florida

Now see, that is what I am getting at. Kansas is the 3rd largest producer of meat in the country, so it makes sense that I have lots of local options for meat. Its if I want fish that I have to start getting unusual. IE: I get US caught/farmed Salmon, and that cost a pretty penny while beef and pork are generally dirt cheap in comparison.

You want to know how I know these people are grifters?

They are complaining about the Chiefs name. But they arent talking about the fans doing the "Tomahawk Chop" as part of their touchdown celebrations, which is when everyone waves their right arm stiff like they are swinging a Tomahawk. But you have to actually be a fan to know about that, and these people dont put in that kind of effort.

Also, I know damn well that most of the local native American tribes dont care about it. Hell, the schools on local reservations have Indian mascots! Notice it always Lakota doing this sort of stuff too. Not the Kickapoo or the Potawatomi, who are the local tribes you think would be the most offended.

I have actually noticed exactly this since I started working in that machine shop.

We make transmissions for a completely separate car company.

We are the prime manufacturer for a certain lawnmower companies gearboxes.

We have had a lot of really random stuff being made by us (one of our big machines spent the whole week making fire hydrants).

Just this week, we had a major tractor maker coming through inspecting our facility because they were interested in us making parts for them.

Other than the constant of that lawnmower gearbox and the car transmissions, we get all kinds of companies ordering from us that have nothing to do with each other. The only unifying force is "We need these parts made out of ductile iron. You can cut ductile iron and your machines meet our specifications. Here is the order."

It may be more local, two of the local ranches I know of offered online ordering and delivery. But 1) being local ranches it is unlikely they would advertise outside of the region, and 2) both sold more high-end meat (one specializing in Waygu, and the other in Bison).

I know the ads you are talking about though and always thought they sounded sketchy to me as well.

To be fair, that was just as much an aspect of living in a state that is pozzed (Pennsylvania) rather than any sort of initiative against farmers. Because if you tried to do something like that here in Kansas, the Farm Bureau would be busting down the governors door and telling them that they just signed the death warrant on their political career in the state. It even parallels since there is a sizable Amish community in the state as well.

But then, agriculture and ranching are some of the largest forces in the state, so it makes sense that any attempt to curtail them around here would be met with a swift kick to the jaw. The same can not be said in plays like PA or CA.

decides to make a restaurant to sell his and other farmers produce there at a better rate.

I think this is honestly the way forward. At least where I live out in farm country in the US (which, admittedly, is less hostile to its farmers than The UK/Europe), a ton of ranches in my area have started setting up their own brick and mortar stores, as well as websites. And through them they will sell their own meat directly, usually at a lower cost than stories since you are buying ranch direct. I have even seen some ranches teaming up to either buy or build their own slaughterhouses and meat packing plants to start moving the needle on meat prices.

Of course, this only works in states that both have a more friendly attitude toward their citizens, and in states that actually have the ranchers to do this sort of stuff. So if the WEF officially told everyone "Eat ze bugs. This is a threat", and states like mine said "Lol. Lmao even." and kept doing their thing, I would still have meat. Meanwhile, California would probably have meat runners the same way there were whiskey runners in Prohibition.

What, is it so hard to believe an autistic woman would not behave like the crazy SJW's that make up most women? First getting together in high school probably helps as well, since she was with me instead of falling in with the crazies.
