Here is the link to all of the D-Files that they have released so far. IIRC, the 3rd episode is the one where they talk about how they replaced artist with Tumblr artist who did not know how to do anything than copy other peoples art.
I would like to point out that one of the Disney Animation whistleblowers who talked to Film Threat for the D-Files said that the person in charge of Disney Animation (Jennifer Lee) said she deliberately picked artist off of Tumblr and Reddit on the grounds that their accounts on those websites already had a file of their works that could be easily browsed.
Said artist were just as "good" at their job as you expect, by the by.
They don't care. The next generation is growing up on this stuff and so long as they rope people into accepting it, they literally don't care about how much they lose in the interim. Sadly, it is working.
It really isnt. The overwhelming evidence is that the current generation is going back to older media and not engaging with this current stuff made "for them". Stuff like Friends, MASH, Seinfeld, all of it is taking off, and Gen Z is treating the 90's like a lot of Millennials treated the 80's. All of this current media is just going to be a cultural black hole that will be forgotten like others in history, especially as companies begin moving back to making things because it will make them a profit (which we are already seeing).
She was good it was her exit which was bad as it was heavily implied on the way out that she threw shade on Ironmouse not Froot for 'not having her back' and basically burned that bridge on the way out.
That is fair, I do agree it was odd to take a shot at Mouse when it seemed like she didnt really do much. But she seems to have just moved on and is not dwelling on it (for better or worse) so I dont really feel the need to focus on it.
I think Silver is still pretty good, but I can absolutely admit she is one of those "love them or hate them" types even before the Hogwarts situation. But I think her continued success on her own even after that was a good sign for the state of the culture war overall (even if she is not really an active member in it).
Yeah, they have already said the US Branch basically only exist to give them an easier means of personnel being able to travel, and to allow them an easier route to buy warehouse space for the purpose of merch sales. It is not going to do much else.
As long as Holo keeps the "Absolutely no politics" policy in place, where it can be a fireable offense to bring up stuff on stream, they will be fine. And besides, the handful of talents they have that push that line have tended more toward the based side than the woke side (ironically enough).
I too remember their reaction to Shiori.
Didnt stop her from being my oshi though.
I am cautiously optimistic about Clans. I have no doubt the gameplay will be similar to Mercenaries, but I am interested in what they are planning with the story. Considering that you are playing as Smoke Jaguar, who are supposed to be the "designated bad guy" of the clans.
Recently started in on Ghost of Tsushima and have been having a blast. It is amazing what happens when people actually stick to the vision they had of a game and seeks to have both good gameplay and story.
Other than that, I have mostly been hopping around between a railroad management sim called Railroader (set on a short line in the Carolina's/Tennessee in the transition between diesel and steam era) which will probably eat all of my railroad itch until the seemingly better Century of Steam drops. For more chill games, I have been playing Victoria 3 and continue to have an absolute blast. And am looking forward to the update dropping next week.
It really does seem like this is the one topic that breaks peoples minds and makes them stop thinking rationally. I had been pretty active on PoliticalCompassMemes on Reddit, and they had the topic come up due to that bill Japan was looking at (that was DOA because it barely had any signatures). And when most of the sub said "It is good it wont pass, this is a stupid thing that people keep focusing on needlessly", a few users and the mods lost their fucking minds, declared that the sub had clearly been overrun by "pedophiles", and started throwing around permabans left, right, and center (lead by a mod tagged as "Libertarian Right". Hah!).
This despite the fact that people had argued in favor of far more controversial topics frequently in the sub. It is just so bizarre to me.
Seconded. Even after the chants of "lock her up", he looked the other way with Hillary thinking it would come off to the establishment as him being willing to play ball and cut back on some of the most out there part of his rhetoric. They repaid him with ceaseless witch hunts, wailing and gnashing of teeth, unprecedented bureaucratic overreach, and the tearing down of every last institution just to get him.
That naivety is gone now. And all evidence points to him wanting to be the king sitting on his throne, sending to the headsman all who participated in the coup against him and didnt turn around to come grovel and kiss the ring (as many are already doing). It is also why I think you see so many of the establishment starting to either throw themselves before him or making plans to flee the country, as it becomes increasingly apparent they cant stop him.
Because they set the limits when 65mph was the limit of a car being safe, and then never updated them after the fact.
I remember hearing from some friends I had in the engineering program when I was in college. They had gone to China with the business school to see some construction projects (an office park aimed at foreign companies, specifically), and the engineering students were interested in how fast they were building it.
As they are being lead around by their handler who is explaining all of the wonderful amenities that will be available and the profit that stands to be made, but the engineers were becoming more and more concerned as they saw more structural defects, construction errors, and other things that are considered baseline equipment missing. Eventually, one of them worked up the courage to ask a question: "Where are the cement mixers?" as they had not seen any the entire time.
And with a smile beaming on her face, their handler informed them that they didnt have any, as in order to ensure "maximum employment opportunities" they created concrete in small batches by hand.
The business students spent the rest of the trip talking about the money they could stand to make doing this. The engineering students spent the rest of the trip panicking at every noise they heard and keeping their head on a swivel for the nearest exit at all times. And this was back in the early 2010's. I can only imagine how much worse it is now, when you have Filipino fishing boats capable of punching holes in Chinese destroyers.
No, their older carriers are the ones that used the ski ramp. What they did was they tried to replicated the electromagnetic catapults the US is switching to to replace the steam based ones (the EM launchers being capable of heavier planes and/or higher payloads). BUT it still uses diesel engines instead of the nuclear reactors US carriers do, so they very quickly discovered they dont generate enough electrical power to actually run the catapults. They also apparently fucked up the build quality (like usual), and it was spotted in drydock with cracks running through the flight deck.
The Chinese military is a joke, and the only threat they pose is subversion. And even that is starting to wane as their economy sputters and dies.
Yep, obviously covering a lot more than the movie though. But if you are interested in it, look for the Complete version by author Dave Stevens (since he wrapped up the comic when he found out he was dying of cancer). IDW since tried to reboot it and do the usual woke things to it, but it never took off and people still only know OG Rocketeer. Razorfist did a breakdown of the comic version if you are interested.
I recently got the complete version of The Rocketeer, and have been rereading what was always one of my favorite superheroes. Very refreshing to look back on when things were better.
I mean along with bens argument that retiring at 65 is stupid and no one should do that
What's wrong with that? If you feel the need to retire and have the means to do so then you can, or if you have worked to the point you literally can not anymore (and he wasnt even arguing against that). But for most people, retirement is a scam and when you look at the longest lived people in the world, you will find they never stopped working. Even if it is something as simple as "chopping firewood to sell for a little extra money on top of pension."
The thing that I want to know is what people like him even "do"? He hates video games, he hates anime (which I will at least admit is an acquired taste), he hates modern Hollywood (with good reason at least), so...what is left that people actually do. Sports I guess? Reading? And what of these are where most up and coming people (including younger conservatives) are?
Honestly, everything after Season 3 is an absolutely crapshoot. It is scraps of actually decent fights and potential lore, sandwiched between mountains of "What the fuck are you talking about?!" and dumb plots. Also a chronic case of the head writer (who is the most soy of boy you have ever seen) deciding that Team RWBY are always right, and giving any character who the audience decides has a point of RWBY being given the idiot ball to make RWBY right again (I will never forgive them for ruining my boy Ironwood).
Not going to lie though: It was hilarious watching Reddit go from finding his opinion interesting and worth listening to, to immediately freaking out about Andrew and trying to tear him down because they found out about his other videos.
From what I have seen, it is because All Might is how most Japanese people see Americans: Big, loud, obnoxious, and in your face. But when the chips are down and you need a hero, they will bulldoze over everyone in their path to be the hero and save the day. And quite frankly, they are sadder when they arent like that.
Honestly, I think it is only really on politics that he is wrong. It is the economic stuff he is better at, and that is usually because he actually has raw data to back it up.
More importantly, I am all for space exploration from countries that are friendly with us.
Meanwhile, China is still dead in the water and Russia fucked theirs up.
I dont think he cares. He was already on Twitter telling the usual suspects "Fuck off" when they were complaining about characters in the game being too sexy.
Ah, but you see, that one is vulnerable to subpoena and FOIA request, which are much harder to do for her personal phone. So gotta do everything on the private phone so that you dont have to worry about answer..."unfortunate" questions. Questions like "Are you actually accountable for your failures?"
