And that's exactly what they want to do. Force "diversity" on the place, then make it so the "diverse" can't be removed from their positions, resulting in a lapdog class of workers that will do whatever their leaders tell them because they know they can effectively get away with anything they want.

Their idea of diversity is and always has been "no white dicks swinging anywhere near the place". They could field a force of 100% nonwhite men and women and they'd cheer the "diversity" of the department, never mind that it would effectively be a physical impossibility without forcing the hiring of unqualified candidates from non-white backgrounds.

Dune, in and of itself, is a huge infodump to swallow. I feel like that's probably why there hasn't been a really good adaptation of it. Every time they've tried it's been mediocre, at best. Hell, in order to read the book you have to be in the proper mindset to juggle the politics between the factions, a HUGE cast of characters, and the interpersonal relationships between all of them. I bounced off the book several times before I finally forced myself to read it back in my twenties, and even now I barely recall half of what went on. For being sci-fi classic, it's a chore to get through if you're not into political sci-fi.

Despite some Disney-era insert stuff that made little sense, I really enjoyed it. It was a nice bit of insight into the mindset of the Mandalorian people as a whole, and I definitely got some strong "Lone Wolf and Cub" vibes from it. Dunno if I'd go back for a rewatch, and definitely not something that'd drive me to throw a subscription at D+, but it was a fun binge diversion for a few nights.

Oh yeah. It's pretty obvious they slow-walked (or no-walked) the reply back to her people so the movie would get out the door before they could hammer down details. As much as I hate to see celebrities flaunting their money and/or power, I really hope she takes them to task for what she feels is owed to her.

My initial reaction was "Oh good lord, I hope not", but then I took a beat and thought about it. What's he going to do? Fuck it up worse than what JJ and Ruin did? I mean, I've already bootleg-watched Mando, and I'm not bothering to consume any of the other Nu-Wars media, so fuck it. If they want him, they can have him, and it'll be funny to watch the wokies get saltier than Crait over yet another failure of their lapdog projects.

I think the black identity in general was poisoned for Asians long before that. If you look at anime and manga in history the typical portrayal of a black man (aside from being stereotypically afro'd) as part of a group is one of a person who is a brutish thug of lower intelligence. Sure, they've had stuff where there are black athletes in there, but their general portrayal of blacks haven't been favorable. But sure, us wypipo are the racists that don't put them in games...

It was more of a corporate cancellation than a wokeness cancellation. She had the audacity to lawyer up against the House of the Mouse because they released Black Widow to Disney+ at the same time as the theaters, and supposedly they had never gotten back to her lawyers on restructuring her contract for the movie to include a cut based on streaming percentages. As such, she feels like they shafted her on the payout because her original contract was likely pre-COVID and didn't take streaming into account, only guaranteeing her a cut of the box office gross. As expected, the movie didn't make jack shit in the theater, so she's all butthurt. Disney, in true Disney fashion, cut her off at the knees for any future work with them.

I never had any hopes for it from the start. Aside from the original adaptation back in the day, which still wasn't that great, they've never been able to pull it off. This newest iteration is nothing but a hot mess.

Looking over Street Fighter's history as a whole, there's a less-than-zero number of white dudes from outside of the US, which I'm sure the Woke would completely ignore if you pointed it out to them . :D

TechParadox 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's a classic "damned if they do, damned if they don't" scenario, because if they throw in a white dude as a fighter then they catch flak for YET ANOTHER WHITE DUDE. If they throw in the magical trans girl or some other wokeness bait then they catch shit for the diversity insert not being diverse enough. It's never enough for the wokies, and it never will be.

Reminds me of a comedy bit I heard once where the comedian was talking about how the lower down you go on the socioeconomic ladder, the better the people were in a boxing ring. The dude noted that some of the best boxers in the world were white, Irish dudes, but there were black guys that could knock the crap out of them - which was all well and good, but there were Hispanic dudes that could beat the black boxers.

His conclusion: You know that somewhere out there is an American Indian dude that can kick the ever-living shit out of EVERYONE.

Jokes aside, screw the wokies over on Reeeeeeesetera. Unless every new character in any SF game is a non-binary transgender womyn of color, that's able to pull a touch of death combo from any position on the field, they'll find something wrong with them.

Back in the beginning of GamerGate, KIA was formed over at plebbit to shine the light of truth and reality on the clown world antics of video game journalists and developers. Over time the jannies over at KIA became more and more draconian in their creation, modification, and enforcement of the rules of the sub, and slapped down more and more posts.

At one point the mods of KIA (who were showing more and more of their true colors of falling into lockstep with the site admins) put up a vote on making one of the rules more restrictive. The general populace told them "hell no", to which the mods responded "fuck you, we'll do what we want" and made the change. At that point, KIA2 was spun off, as a return to the less restrictive ways. We got smeared as being a bigger hate group than the original KIA, which was to be expected, with the usual lies and prevarications about us followers of "wrongthink". Things eventually calmed down between the halves of the schism and a cease-fire between the communities was reached.

Things progressed over there, as they do, and it became more and more clear that Reddit was a lost cause and had been overrun by leftist ideologues who were more interested in pushing the agenda than allowing open communication. In the wake of a potential ban wave, KIA2 went private for a while, and the .win site was created as our lifeboat. Original KIA, trying to look like they were still halfway legit, followed suit and got their own .win community created, but it's a graveyard over there because they're all still happy in their little jannie-controlled walled garden at Reddit. They don't get that they're still slowly having their freedom stripped away from them over there - so long as they occasionally get to bitch about clown world vidya bullshit (but don't mention trannies, BLM, or any of the other trash Reddit protects across the board), but if they were smart they would have left back when the writing was on the wall.

"Despite launching on two platforms" doesn't count for jack shit when one of those platforms is still effectively vaporware for the average gamer, nearly a full year after its release date. Didn't help it any that the game was effectively MOTSS when compared to the original 2018 version and they were selling what should have been a DLC at full retail.

Because they lack even a modicum of creativity and they know that their pastiche self-insert social agenda megaphone characters go over about as well as a turd in the punch bowl at a high school dance (see: the New Warriors reboot that didn't get off the ground). They need a way in to be able to blast their message to as many eyes as they can and they can't wait for their trash to gain popularity, so they co-opt existing characters into their agenda (Iceman, Tim Drake's Robin, Squirrel Girl) or replace them with race-lifted Mary Sue versions that are supposedly better than the originals (Riri as Ironheart, Sam Alexander as Nova, Kamala as Ms. Marvel, Amadeus Cho as Hulk, et cetera).

Even my wife, who is oblivious as hell to a lot of the wokeness politicking that goes on around us unless I point it out, has started noticing that the commercials that show up in our streams are more and more non-white and non-hetero - bi-racial couples, lesbian couples, and gay couples abound. I had been aware of this for a while, but she brought it up one day as we were watching TV and I was both surprised and pleased that she noticed it.

Not Reddit related, but the MGTOW guild got hit in a banwave over at Ruqqus. They're migrating again, but they really ought to either get their own .win server set up and get in on the federation, or get the admins over at the communities to set one up for them.

I figure that the whole Greek lettering version iteration is because they wanted to avoid the original right-wing stigma of COVID being labeled the Wuhan Virus or the Chinese Flu. They went so hard on the narrative against prior naming schemes (e.g. Spanish Flu) that there was no way they were going to let the Indian variant be branded by its location of origin.

We can play their game too. How does the person replying what those people in the picture identify as? Half of those "men" could be N-B or trans-women. Sounds to me like some bigot just potentially misgendered a whole group.

Stupid games, stupid prizes. At most you're going to get recommended a single round of the two-dose variant, one now and one in 3-6 weeks. After that there should be no reason why a person should need a separate vaccine variant from another manufacturer, but there's morons out there that are collecting vaccine stamps like kids collect Pokemon. I guess they're using the logic of "if one vaccination is good then MORE IS BETTER".

These are the same morons that scream "FOLLOW THE SCIENCE" and believe that the Delta Variant spontaneously generated because everyone else didn't get vaccinated in time or weren't wearing masks.

Yeah, it's typical of speculative plotholes where the writer has no clue where the story is going. I'm guessing the elevator pitch went something like:

BKV: Okay, here's the deal: All the men and male animals in the world DIE except for this one dude and his monkey, and all he wants to do is get reunited with his girlfriend.

Editor: Okay, but why does everyone but him and the monkey die?

BKV: I dunno, reasons, we'll figure it out later, but it's a great hook for a post-apocalyptic feminist take-over, right?

Editor: Sounds good, find an artist and run with it

Their goal is to basically end up with the children of the future being 100% dependent on the State, so it is easier to feed them the bullshit that is socialism and communism. Keep them dumb and unable to properly communicate and they'll be less likely to rise up against the source of their life and livelihood if and when they finally realize how badly the system is fucking them over.

They never exactly say what caused the plague or why Yorick and Ampersand survived. One of the major theories put forth in the book is that there is one more dude that survived, Doctor Matsumori, who was a geneticist who developed a compound that was injected into Ampersand, who was then mis-delivered to Yorick. All three were affected by the compound, which was why they survived the event.

Vaughan has been intentionally vague as to the actual cause in interviews regarding the book. He claims the answer is in there, but they never clearly stated "THIS IS THE CAUSE OF THE PLAGUE" in the book, with several potential causes being floated over the course of the series.

While I could get the notion of voting off someone who would be a danger in the late-game, you don't start angling for that until mid-game or right before the tribe merge (if you have the rest of your half on your side). The whole notion of getting rid of someone who is potentially useful simply because they're doing more work than the rest of the women and "making us look bad" is such a totally female mindset, where appearance is everything.

I usually point at the TV show Survivor for an example of that. I forget which country's edition of it did a "men vs women" breakdown on the initial separate islands, but it basically proved that the guys would have survived and the women were screwed. The men built shelter, set up a rotation for chore duties (hunting, gathering, fire tending, cooking, etc) based on their skills, and were generally thriving as best they could. The women basically spent their first few days burning through their supplies and lounging around doing jack shit, treating it like they were on some sort of beach vacation. The producers had to pull the "tribe member swap" bit early to get some men over onto the women's team, so they wouldn't starve to death or get killed from exposure.
