It was more of a corporate cancellation than a wokeness cancellation. She had the audacity to lawyer up against the House of the Mouse because they released Black Widow to Disney+ at the same time as the theaters, and supposedly they had never gotten back to her lawyers on restructuring her contract for the movie to include a cut based on streaming percentages. As such, she feels like they shafted her on the payout because her original contract was likely pre-COVID and didn't take streaming into account, only guaranteeing her a cut of the box office gross. As expected, the movie didn't make jack shit in the theater, so she's all butthurt. Disney, in true Disney fashion, cut her off at the knees for any future work with them.
The other part is that they have an email from a Disney lawyer mentioning that they would need to discuss how to work things out due to the streaming aspect.
Oh yeah. It's pretty obvious they slow-walked (or no-walked) the reply back to her people so the movie would get out the door before they could hammer down details. As much as I hate to see celebrities flaunting their money and/or power, I really hope she takes them to task for what she feels is owed to her.
