My first experience was a demo of the first game (Abe's Oddysee), on the PS1, which came on a demo disc you had to order. I remember being creeped out by some of the ambient sounds that would play before the main menu (I was young). I wouldn't play the full version of the game until years later.

Such acts (should they happen) assume that reconciliation with the censors is possible and that we can learn to exist on the same platform in mutual trust and respect. I highly doubt this will happen.

I don't know if this has been posted here before, but its related. About a year ago, Linehan did a interview with youtuber Benjamin Boyce (documented the events at Evergreen college): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPtqlW52Lks&t=2402s

Roughly starting at 38:27 and ending at 44:47, Linehan discusses gamergate and his role in it and states that he looks back on it with shame. He even calls out people like Brianna Wu, claiming that he didn't know she was a MtF tranny.

He doesn't mention Count Dankula, but Boyce ask him if he made amends with ShoeOnHead and Linehan states he never did.

https://www.thelocal.de/20220310/germany-pledges-to-stick-with-vaccine-mandates-despite-austria-u-turn/

According to this article, there are two vaccination mandate bills to be put forward this month. Assuming they haven't been merged into one, is this second bill still to be voted on?

Basically, they want to change the name because they think people both outside and inside the industry will take them more seriously. I doubt it was for puritanical reasons, these people have no sense of shame. If they did, they wouldn't be game journalists

A shock drop and a sudden stop for everyone of them is what we need.

The history of the Soviet Union is the history of arranging funny shaped blocks that fall from the sky. Who knew Tetris was a documentary.

Prepping for the next "pandemic" a little, aren't we? Or right on schedule?

Ol' Klaus loved his cyberpunk distopias so much he decided to make them reality, and we get to suffer the consequences.

So, when does Trudeau start disappearing political dissenters, locking ethnic minorities in concentration camps and harvesting their organs?

Couldn't the "anti-vaxxers" still use the vaccine efficacy data? They may as well not publish any data at all if their goal is stop said data being used against them

Are these woke localisers worried about being made redundant (fingers crossed) or simply mad that people actually want to play games for fun and not a lecture?

I highly doubt this is over. Even if restrictions and mandates are removed, the conditioning of the people will linger for god knows how long. People will continue to wear masks and disinfected their hands after every visit to the shops, corporations will continue to mandate the wearing of masks in offices, people will continue to fear the unvaccinated and call for them to be barred from participating in society. This is a hollow victory at best.

This kind of thing serves to reinforce my belief that career politicans are corporate middle managers masquerading as public servants
