I’ve seen him live and there’s a lot of quiet time. He’s very funny but also very very preachy, it’s not just jokes for laughs. There are long periods of total silence it’s not knee slapping hilarity.
It would not surprise me to learn Netflix pipes in laugh tracks. They give everyone a “special” and some absolutely terrible acts are getting wild applause on awful performances. In reality, those audiences are quiet, groaning, or heckling.
It’s so manufactured that a number of big comedians are now making fun of it. Even Theo Von said on jockos podcast his Netflix “special” had a grand total of 9 people in the audience. Nobody showed up. I haven’t gone to watch his performance but I guarantee since Netflix paid to produce it, they made it sound and look like a rip roarin laugh fest packed to the gates.
They have 40 “brands” under them directly and those brands own other smaller publications and “newsletters”.

It’s one major company putting out the same message, they just created the illusion of separate brands for marketing dollars. It’s all readily available information online too.
All the print magazines were bought by conde nast bc they were dying. They’re all the same talking points bc of single ownership and it’s been this way for over a decade now.
“Magazines” are the fm radio of print. Every radio station is the same bc clear channel bought the entire industry and standardized it into a cookie cutter platform nationally. Condé Nast paid for all the dead publications, standardized the talking points across all of them, and milks them for click bait cash.

I’m in my 40s and it used to be you could go to lunch or hangout with female coworkers after work - as colleagues.
Now even the interns know not to do these things. This movement removed women’s ability to create work relationships and knowledge by requiring a chaperone at every engagement.
And the worst part is it’s not your work friends that have an issue. It’s always THE OTHER WOMEN who will start rumors and drama where none existed. They definitely played themselves bc I go out with guys all the time for drinks and boating adventures outside work. I can’t do that with women anymore bc it will for sure cause a problem not worth having.

It’s not commercial banking with the problem. They’re seeking capital from investment banks who’s charters specifically forbid investments into adult entertainment.
If you can find an investment firm who’s charter allows adult entertainment, then it’s fine. But these charters have very specific rules about where they can and cannot invest for many reasons.
You can visa and zelle porn until you’re blue in the dick. They’ve Always have had that ability. But you cannot attract investment banking money bc you are not allowed into their radar.
Investment banking is not commercial or credit. It’s not consumer grade. It’s an entirely different animal.

If you do your job well and avoid the nut jobs, you’ll advance into leader positions and be spared all of this nonsense.
I’ve been in business over 20 years and HR training is always just show up and check the box. I’ve been in leader roles for the past 10 years - stop engaging the people you know are problems and focus on your core objectives. This will guarantee you’re out of the transactional work bucket with all the other crabs. But you have to be smart and know what battles are worth your time.
Both sides of the coin are causing problems at work bc both sides are convinced they’re right. At the end of the day, they’re problem employees who cannot get along or focus and they will remain at the bottom bc they’re unable to perform at a high level due to their own stupid thoughts and hang ups regarding other people’s behavior.
If you choose to get in the mud with the nut jobs and sling it with them, that will be your job forever. It’s your choice.

IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THIS BAD
This has been favorite side-effect of working from home. The only time I have any interaction with group-nonsense is if it's a link on the intranet. And I'd have to click the link to see more about it.
No more balloons, no more signs in the hallways, no more people casually talking about their little freak support-crews, nobody asking you to wear their pointless buttons or attend their mentally ill seminars. With working from home it's all 100% gone. And it's glorious.
Go be crazy at home all you want. Nobody but other crazy people want to participate in this time waste.
