Wikipedia is not a source, it's an aggregate

How fascinating. You used it as a source. If you claim that Wikipedia just 'aggregates' sources, then you should have used the source you picked, instead of copy-pasting Wikipedia.

Anti-semitism really is the social justice of the hard-right. You even use the same sources.

I'd been trying to direct the conversation toward the source the entire time

Correct, you've been trying to direct the conversation from the source you did use towards towards 'the source' that you didn't.

You are so verbose it's hard to believe you are actually that stupid

The more verbose someone is, the dumber he is.

I'm confused. Why on earth is your local government interfering with what flag goes where?

Sam Harris said that dead children piled in Hunter Biden's basement wouldn't convince him to sway his positions on Joe Biden, or Democrats generally.

Just out of curiosity: if Eric Trump had dead children in his basement, would that make you support Joe Biden or Democrats?

That said, if you go around bringing it up and bragging about it, then there's something wrong with you.

Maybe Alex Jones should have pointed his ire at Boeing instead of grieving parents through a bullhorn in the town were their little ones were gunned down.

Yup, though I think he claimed the government staged it, he wasn't saying "the parents are the bad guys".

But that does not justify how white-collar criminals get away with literal murder while you get enormous fines for distasteful statements.

Certainly a bit of a disappointment, because the entire establishment (including the communists) unified to defeat the FN. It was already a tall order to get a majority, but third is a bit much.

That said, there might be a silver lining.

  1. This was just elections for parliament. The FN was probably not going to accomplish that much falling short of a majority, although Macron has posed as tough on immigration and passed legislation in the previous assembly with the support of the FN.
  2. There are major differences between the far-left and the Macronists, who will now have to co-operate. They will inevitably be disappointed by 2027, at which point Le Pen will be better positioned to win. Polls showed her beating every candidate even prior to the recent earthquakes.
  3. It was thought by some analysts that Macron wanted a "far-right" government, which his successor (he is term limited out) would then be able to run against, even though due to cohabitation (president & government of different parties) the govt wouldn't be able to accomplish much. Now all the dysfunction will be his.

Reverse silver linings:

  1. All the previous left and far-left people were committed to secularism, which at least was in opposition to Islamism. The new far-left alliance that won is pro-Islam and pro-rapefugee. They won't get a majority without the Macronists, who are globalists and pro-rapefugee but savvy enough to know that they should act otherwise or lose all their appeal.

Basically, the result is gridlock, which is very bad for the French economy as it's in very bad shape as has been for a long time, but I don't expect the Macronists (or the communists/socialists in the far-left block, who are secularists) to become more pro-refugee in a coalition agreement.

Also, I think the media may have been blowing some hot air about the FN's chances, precisely in order to brag when it falls short. Though no doubt about it, this is falling short of anyone's expectations.

So the center-"right" in France sided with the far-left?

The center-right is the far-left.

But sort of. It stayed neutral - it's split between a majority faction which repudiates the FN and a minority that co-operates with it. The Macronists sided with the far-left, and the far-left sided with the Macronists. In some places the Macronists voted for actual Communist Party candidates over FN candidates.

So how would you reply to someone saying: well, that just means "we" need to ban handguns as well?

Everyone in Europe I've seen with face/neck tattoos, whose political affiliation I know, was right-wing.

Yes, it surprises me as well.

It was a charitable post

Trying to evade responsibility for shamelessly shilling Wikipedia as a source is anything but 'charitable'.

people like you

There are no 'people like me'. Only me.

I am aware, but how could this backfire?

Four more years of Biden instead of Gretchen Whitmer? That is a feature to me and not a bug.

But he was never CONVICTED. And Bush may have killed hundreds of thousands, but he was never indicted for that like Orange was for hiding payments to a porn star.

People will line up to vote for "the administration/party, not the man".

Quite likely, but I don't see how this would be worse with Biden than with a Democrat who is compos mentis. They'll be far more likely to experience buyer's remorse with Biden. Also, any Dem running 4 years from now will then not be an incumbent.

Only way it could have possibly been improved upon would be to answer every question by yielding his time to Biden to let him speak even more. Maybe respond to everything Biden said by "I didn't quite get that: can you expand on that thought?"

That is so unlike Trump that it would be very obvious what he'd be doing.

This is 2 years old, but I just found out, and I haven't seen it referenced either.

In the USSR under Stalin, there was a story of a boy who turned in his own father. The difference is that this boy was fictional.

It would be remarkably foolish to kill him and make him a martyr. The guy is 79 and rather unhealthy, he'll go that way of his own accord.

Moreover, he was president once before and did exactly nothing but obey the security state. I like to think that he learned and that this time will be different, but not very likely. If they're THAT threatened by him, they're remarkably foolish.

I hear ya.

At the same time, US presidents are never held accountable. Not for their crimes, not for their war crimes, not for illegal spying, for nothing. Biden wasn't going to be held accountable regardless, nor any other US president - except for Trump who is held 'accountable' for non-crimes.

So I think this is a bad decision in theory (because presidents should be subject to prosecution), but good in practice.

Some straight men said they sexually desire transgender women because of the women’s supposed hyper-feminine traits.

I too like hyper-feminine traits like 10 inch penises.
