He's an Indian programming engineer, which means he can program but doesn't understand design or how to use things unless explained directly. So the cool things being made by AI are cool, but it's beyond his ability to comprehend it. All he sees is the fake stuff and the grift.
It was just nice to talk about old games. I like Screw Attack better.

I have good family and friends ask why I don't do projects for Disney. The answer is what I see here, and it take 3 times as much work to get the same project. Said work is meetings btw.

To be honest, it looks like this problem has been happening for a long time. ESG funding just extended it is all.
Accepting a saturation point is a hard thing for anyone.
It's been my experience that engineers often think they're the architect and design with insanity. I had a project for a low key event, and the engineer wanted them to spend millions of dollars for a stage and effects.
What I realized is that quite often the engineer types only know one thing really well, and see that as the answer. They want to show off that one skill, and do not care what is actually needed. The guys who designed Orlando truly believe the entire city should be sky scrapers, so then they don't have to fix the road infrastructure design. In fact, they want more of the insanity. I put my life on the line every day because someone thought he was cool when designing the i4 to 408 interconnection. When the complaint is made, the engineers say that's the only way to do it, even though there are other options.
Another problem is engineers can be just as lazy. A building only needs one AC to fit regulation? It's a long building, and the architect has even put places for extra AC units. Nope, only one is installed.
Engineers can be artistic script kiddies too. Even when not, they can be a one answer only guy, and not be able to see beyond that one answer.
Streaming wars was a last ditch effort, not the cause.
They don't seem to understand that AI and the modern game engines means the small teams can make big stuff.
Ubisoft used to be a AA publisher.

I love how many times people keep saying the company is the top of the charts. It's not, and never was, but the billions invested in it had nothing to do with it's status.
That oath about giving up your life and body to serve keeps getting weirder and weirder results.

I have done the initial designs for a theme park using AI. The trick is to know how it works and how to do your job. Once you do that, it's really useful. However, most guys try to skip one or both of those steps and claim to be revolutionary.
