I think it's for the fans alone. Heck, the bad press looks like paid advertising to get the non woke to play it.

They built a city out of a swamp and a desert already. It will be interesting to see.

Actually the church has been building a city here...

That's sort of the excuses rich people give when throwing money at poor people to watch them rush and fight for it. It does help them for a moment, but is a mockery of kindness.

Of course then we have to discuss buskers and what they do.

Want to know my theory? I think Bureaucracy is dying. Almost all of the tech and inventions have made it useless, which makes everything set up for it useless. All of the politics is based on keeping bureaucracy in place, because without it the powerful have nothing to keep power.

You see it at the end of dynasties and empires. The bureaucracy becomes the most powerful entity, and everyone wants to be a part of it. The new ruler doesn't have it and is able to do more. It's written into Chinese culture, so they're accustomed to it. The US was never designed for it, so we feel it the hardest.

This is why we see so much stuff like this. The bureaucracy is seen as more important than the task. I've worked in academics and big business and it's looked about the same.

Disney. They have amazing IP and squander it. The best comic book theme park with marvel characters is at Universal. I don't know what's happening internally, but I would put a hard boot to it. If anything, I would rent out anything we had IP for, except the actual Disney made stuff, and see what else can be made.

I applaud this.

You could do all this without Games Workshop as well. RCP to SCP for example.

There's a great version starting Gary Sinise.

It was a sad story. I prefer East of Eden.

I think SVB was the bank that covered for a lot of money laundering fronts. Something happened and now everything is being dropped to keep it quiet. I expect an equivalent will pop up for AI or companies with "remote workers"

Very true. Heck, if you read Milton Berle's jokebook, the Yankees win in their jokes.

I've had this conversation here before. Yankees has an amazing history, and it's weird to think it came from German immigrants with names like Jan and Jahnke.

ATLA is one of the very few shows that I would weather have watched it than do some big activity. Like the first time I saw it I was amazed at it's awesomeness and had to go somewhere with my family. I honestly can't remember what it was we did, but I remember that I had to miss the show.

There is a story arch in it that the creators don't even realize happened. Two of the major characters are in a matriarchal society, and it's them dealing with new cultures that don't follow their ways. The girl was basically a leader in her tribe even though she was 12 and has a hard time when people tell her no, or don't do as she says. She also thinks less of men a lot.

Her older brother is the only teenage boy in their entire tribe, and is trying to find his usefulness in a very sexist world. It takes a lot for him to become his full self, and then does amazing things. He doesn't have powers, just brains and the will to become the best. He literally learns engineering, masters military tactics with that engineering, and then plans out a full attack multiple times on enemies. His younger sister still has a hard time accepting him as the man he is, because she still thinks of him as men are children.

The creators thought they made a feminist, and didn't realize what was actually shown.

It's an absolutely amazing show, and has made me cry several times. Go see it.

Good time to start a chain that does all the old things.
