Also concerns about a store of money subject to technical interception.

If someone starts knocking over - or blocking - big crypto exchanges (either to preserve USD or force people onto the new food stamps CBDC), your fat crypto wallet isn't anything like as useful as the lockbox of gold you've got in the basement...

The basis for this appears to be:

the perpetrators of child sexual abuse, more broadly, are a variety of ethnicities

Which I did not think was in debate, particularly.

And in any event, the major problem is this: Other child rapists get arrested, get charged, get tried and get jailed.

Child rapists of certain ethnicities have their victims arrested for "child prostitution", which isn't even an offence in the UK, or their victim's families arrested, when they try to intervene.

Why would any rational actor stop when the state is going out of it's way to facilitate this barbarism?

They're merely taking the same strategy we did for centuries - doing their best to prevent any potential competition arising in the first place.

"Leader of the free world" is a title the US guards jealously

Yep, it's the Ayn Rand thing again. Make everybody a criminal, then the state has prosecutorial discretion to only enforce that law upon it's enemies - and a pointed reminder to it's friends why they should do as they're told.

well, if there's one vote and it wins 50.0000001% of the vote, then that is The General Will, and therefore that's moral to use terror.

Interesting. You know more Rosseau than I do, I think, do you know how he rationalises plugging along with the subversion when communism inevitably doesn't win the necessary votes?

APDSmith 5 points ago +5 / -0

It's funny, isn't it, how this "General Will" always seems to align itself with communists?

Remarkably consistent, that, isn't it?

Mind you, it's not like the rest of communist literature isn't "Yeah, it's perfectly fine to genocide your enemies - if they didn't deserve it, they'd have submitted to you already!"

The corollary to that: Why not conduct any atrocities you deem necessary?

It's not like the left's plan is co-existence with an honourably-defeated enemy, but rather the ideological extermination or a bunch of dangerous heretics.

True story: I had to get one of my guys on the phone to process an HP hardware issue back in the day.

The HP girl's accent on the other end of the line was so thick that Nav, who is himself Indian, needed four goes to understand what the hell she was talking about...

The thing is, when you get Imp off his monomania, they're intelligent and perfectly capable of holding a decent conversation and making cogent points.

But that's not easy to do, is it?

Means well

An attitude no doubt shared by most of the commissars in the Soviet Union, Cambodia and the PRC, even as people were marched to the killing fields or ground into paste underneath tank treads.

Marxism is an ideology that weaponises empathy by training it's adherents that opponents are somehow responsible for the rough edges and harsh realities of the world.

As far as I can work out, communism doesn't work for large groups of people.

Your range of solutions, then, as a evangelical communist, are to reduce the number of people - purges upon purges - or reduce the status of most people until they become no more than cattle.

18
APDSmith 18 points ago +18 / -0

Indeed, but if you're a proper communist, you really hate the Russians, because they failed communism.

It doesn't matter that the nation was starving and bankrupt. Any true communist ideologue will just keep purging dissidents until all of the problems are solved.

It's easier to blame Russia than admit that communism itself is and always will be an ideology doomed to failure, you see?

Unfortunately, people lie.

Say you're 23, hooking up with a 22-year-old.

Psych! She's 20, you're now a rapist! Have fun with that!

Can't see how this would work in reality without turning the majority of people into criminals at a time when the Police can't keep on top of shoplifters.

Perhaps the BBC has been reading their Ayn Rand:

The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.

It was Dinenage that contacted the media platforms, this is some random outfit contacting Rumble advertisers on the heels of that, in a transparent attempt to fit them up for their own allegations that they support rape.
