He could be one of the shittiest people in the world at this point, and I wouldn’t care. They tried to screw him thinking he’d “do the progressive thing, and give it all up for free.” Fuck them.
Long story short: Mike Z went woke, was going to give half of the company to his employees, the employees screamed that he harrased them for 10 years, he told them to fuck off, the employees all walked out, and finally Mike was fired by the publisher who then absorbed all of the IPs.

To put in to context, this game was kickstarted and a LOT of people bought it due to cross over characters like Shantae or Guacamelee guy or whatever, however none of that will be delivered and I think none of the physical reward tiers will too.
But since the Lab Zero is being "restructured" (a.k.a they fired all parasites) 505 took the virtue signalling route and cancelled the project, of course keeping those sweet backer & buyers money for themselves.
To add even more salt to the fire, there are retards saying "be angwy at Mike reeee not 505 reee" however there's nothing stopping 505 from hiring another company to implement these characters, which retards who worked on them even said are 100% complete and ready to be put on the game. Instead 505 chose the "run away with everyone's money" option.
In the end 505 is absolutelly on the wrong, even more than Mike Z since he didn't do anything illegal.
505 has always been a shit publisher that takes every opportunity to try to bend their customers over. See also: Payday, Control, every time they tried to sell a game with $1 = €1 or £1, etc.
