If they did it they'd show a lot more of a spine than I'd expect from the republicans.

Its not just that. He specifically warned the Dems in 2016 that this would happen when they changed the Senate rules to try and strong-arm Merrick Garland into the Supreme Court. He really needs to make good on that warning.

All the rumors I've seen are suggesting that potential nominees will be women. Which on one hand I understand because of good optics, Ginsburg's feminist leanings and so on, but on the other hand choosing people based on gender is still sexism and more importantly is retarded.

I think Amy Coney Barrett is an excellent pick not because of her gender but because she worked under and was mentored by Scalia, is very against Roe v. Wade and Obamacare, and is pro-2nd Amendment, and from the opinions if seen her write, she is pretty anti-immigration too.
She's only in her late 40's, so she also has plenty of years left.
Her name is Barrett. She has to like smacking down gun grabbers.

Barrett argues in a dissenting opinion for the right of nonviolent felons (in this case, a guy who was convicted of felony mail fraud) to possess firearms.
As a side note, I honestly can't believe that falsely selling therapeutic shoe inserts as "Medicare approved" and then billing Medicare accordingly actually counts as a felony. Fucking clown world.

Who knows, its the only opinion she's written regarding the 2nd Amendment I could find. Still, arguing for the ability of nonviolent felons to possess firearms is pretty radical, its not even something Scalia would argue, at least that I'm aware of. Don't quote me on that, though. Scalia has authored WAY too many opinions for me to go through all of them and look for that kind of thing.
EDIT: Also something I was unaware of till now, both the majority opinion judges on that case were Reagan-era appointments. Fucking digraceful.
Reagan is very suspect to me these days. Just about everything he did policy wise has benefited the swamp.
The consensus seems to be that he's going to pick Amy Barrett. Supposedly she was one of the three finalists last time.
Picking Gorsuch over Barrett last time was the big mistake.
